Voxter

We really enjoyed our first residential school trip to Voxter. The weather was lovely! We built dens in the woods, toasted marshallows, played outside, had a treasure hunt, a scavenger hunt, went swimming, went to the playpark, played rounders and went to the Mid Brae Inn for tea. 🙂

Presentations

We do class presentations 3 times a year. This builds our confidence when speaking to an audience and develops our research skills and our presentation skills. We have to plan a presentation with a beginning, middle and ending and think about:

  • giving the audience eye-contact
  • using pictures, drawings and props
  • speaking loud and clear
  • varying the pace & tone of our voice

Cooke Aquaculture

Thank-you to David and Michelle from Cooke Aquaculture for coming in to school to tell the children all about salmon farming in Shetland and how the salmon gets shipped all around the world. Thank-you for generously giving us a huge fresh salmon to cook and eat, the children loved it! Thank-you to Alex for filleting the fish for us. 🙂
