Letters from St. Nicholas Primary School

We were so excited to receive letters from primary 2 at St. Nicholas Primary School in Broxburn. Their topic this term is Katie Morag and so they were asking us what it is like living on an Island. We really enjoyed reading all the letters, we have replied to the letters and will be posting them this weekend! Thank-you primary 2, we hope you enjoy reading our letters.

Susan Boyle

Vaila chose Susan Boyle as her ‘famous Scot’ to present to the class. It was very interesting when Vaila showed us Susan Boyle’s first audition on ‘Britain’s got talent’. We could see the judges and the audience rolling their eyes when Susan walked on, thinking that she wouldn’t be very good. Then Susan started to sing and everyone was amazed at how good she was. This teaches us not to judge people based on how they look. Susan’s talent was amazing, Vaila told us all about what Susan has achieved, she has done very well for herself because she never gave up on her dream. Another lesson from Susan’s story! Fabulous presentation Vaila, well done you! 🙂

Sir Alex Ferguson

Scott chose Sir Alex Ferguson as his ‘famous Scot’ to present to the class, he prepared a poster at home with different pictures and information. Scott told the class about Fergie’s success and all the trophies he won with the football clubs he managed. The main part of his presentation was about the 26 years Fergie was manager of Manchester United, Miss Irvine loved this part! 🙂

Charles Rennie Mackintosh

Thomas chose Charles Rennie Mackintosh as his ‘famous Scot’ to present to the class, he prepared a brilliant powerpoint presentation. Thomas spoke very clearly about his famous Scot, showing us examples of his amazing work. Thomas got the audience to participate by colouring in some Charles Rennie Mackintosh designs. Fantastic presentation Thomas, very well done. 🙂

Lulu

Mairianne chose Lulu as her ‘famous Scot’ to present to the class, she prepared a powerpoint presentation which was fantastic. Mairianne loved Lulu’s fashion sense in the 1960’s. Mairianne spoke confidently to the class and told us all about Lulu’s singing career. We listened to Lulu singing her most famous song ‘shout’ and had a peerie dance to it! Well done Mairianne, your presentation was fantastic.
