Outdoor Education

We had so much fun on Friday afternoon. Nikki and Alex came to school with lots of exciting things for us to use and explore outside. We enjoyed making food for the birds, making dens in the trees, making a campfire and toasting marshmallows! We are going to be developing our playground area to create more exciting opportunities for outdoor education. img_2249img_2269img_2325img_2352img_8573img_8574img_8586img_8608img_8616

Thomas on Target!

dsc_3448 img_2415

We have been learning about the Native Americans and how they used arrows to kill animals as large as buffalo. Hunters approached their prey on foot or on horse back, accurately targeting them for food for the tribe. The Native Americans respected the Earth and all the animals so they would never kill more than they needed to survive. Thomas took in pictures to show us of him using a bow and arrow. Thomas managed to hit the target on the blue, black and red circles. Great effort Thomas 🙂

Shoe Box Appeal 2016

img_1935

We had a visitor in school yesterday. A volunteer from the charity Blythswood came in to tell us all about the shoe box appeal. Every year Blythswood take shoe boxes filled with gifts to people living in poverty all over Europe and Pakistan. The Blythswood target this year is to fill 150,000 boxes! We’re going to help by filling boxes in school for boys and girls that are similar ages to us.

Message in a Bottle

We’ve been writing letters to post back to the person that sent a message in a bottle from Faroe. The message in a bottle was found on the Sand Voe beach in North Roe. We typed up our letters on the laptops and inserted pictures of North Roe and the Sand Voe beach.
