We have bought some new dressing up costumes for our role play area with some of the money we raised at the Sunday teas. PC Jamieson arrested Miss Irvine today but she was not found guilty so she did not have to go to jail thankfully! Nynke and Dana loved the new princess dresses 🙂

It was Nynke’s 6th Birthday in the holidays. She had a great birthday, she got a new camera and a talking bird that repeats everything you say. Nynke has been showing us her new camera today and taking some pictures. 🙂

I was helping my Da working with slats for the rams and we did do a lot of stuff. We needed nails and we put the nails in the slats. The rams are quite happy now. It was quite fun in the holidays. 🙂

Mairianne is our star pupil this week. Mairianne has been doing really well with her challenging maths work this term. Her maths homework has been fantastic and she is always so willing to help the younger pupils with their maths. Well done Mairianne, keep up the brilliant maths work! 🙂

Well done to Vaila who won 1st prize at the Voe Show for her fantastic vegetable character starting with the letter G. Vaila made this amazing granny makkin! I love her cauliflower hair and courgette glasses. Vaila was at the prize giving on Saturday night to collect her trophy that she won for the best entry overall in the children’s section. 🙂

Primary 1 and 2 have been enjoying their topic ‘The Jolly Postman’ this term. They have set up their own post office in the classroom but today they got to see the big post office in Lerwick. We enjoyed being shown around the sorting rooms and learning about how all the letters and parcels are sorted and delivered. We sent a letter to our school first class, we’re going to see if it gets delivered to our school tomorrow. 🙂

Ronan is in this weeks Shetland Times newspaper. Ronan was sailing in the Pico regatta, he did really well, coming 2nd place in 3 of the races. Can you spot Ronan in the picture? He’s in the boat closest to the camera! Well done Ronan, we’re all very proud of you. 🙂

On Friday Auntie Alex and Nikki came to do outdoor education with us. At first we had a meeting to decide what we all should do. Thomas, Ronan and I made a den. I cut some of the tree and made a porch that you can stand up in and even a sitting room. Then we all tried to light the fire then Ardan got it lit and then we roasted marshmallows and then melted chocolate. It was very fun. By Mairianne

On Friday I sharpened a twig to make a marshmallow stick and then we made a fire and roasted marshmallows. And we melted chocolate over the fire, it was very fun. My favourite bit was cooking the marshmallows. By Scott

On Friday we ate marshmallows on the fire and when we were eating them Ardan’s one went on fire and Scott, Thomas, Ardan, Mairianne and me all blew the fire and it went out and all was well. And we made seed balls for the birds in the trees. I like when we got marshmallows. By Vaila
