Vaila Acting Opposites

Vaila played 2 characters…2 completely opposite characters. Vaila was Cinderella’s wicked step mother and Cinderella’s very lovely Fairy Godmother! Vaila did a fantastic job, she switched from evil laughs for the wicked step mother to beautiful singing for the Fairy Godmother. Vaila opened our show with a beautiful solo song. She terrified the audience as Lady Tremaine and ‘wowed’ the audience with her magic as Fairy Godmother. Vaila had very (very!) quick changes from one character to another between scenes. She also had 4 solo songs to sing but Vaila managed this seamlessly, she was born to be on stage! While I was struggling back stage to get Cinderella quickly changed  into her ball gown and glass slippers, Vaila entertained the audience with a lovely dance that was completely unrehearsed! Well done on an outstanding performance Vaila. 🙂

The Grand Duke

Ronan was our Grand Duke. He was amazing, he made the audience laugh with his dramatic fall when Lady Tremaine tripped him up, the glass slipper smashed as a result but thankfully Cinderella had the other slipper! So the Grand Duke achieved his task from the King of finding the prince a suitable wife! Well done Ronan 🙂

Thank-you to everyone who came to our Christmas concert. The children put on a fantastic show. Everyone was amazed by how confidently they all performed. Here are a few snap shots from our dress rehearsal. We raised £334 for our school fund. So many people were involved in putting on our Christmas concert so there are lots of people to thank. Thank-you to:

  • The children, you are all STARS! Well done for memorizing all your lines and singing and acting so well!
  • The parents for helping your children to memorize their lines and your continued support.
  • The amazingly talented Sharon for doing all the music and helping the children to learn the songs.
  • Lindsay for making the wonderful carriage.
  • Shona, Julie-Ann and Alana for working behind the scenes, helping with costume changes, curtains and scene changes.
  • Everyone who baked and helped with 8 O’clocks.
  • Everyone who donated a raffle.
  • Janetta for making and selling our recipe books, organizing the raffle and advertising the show.
  • Isla for helping with so much! Rehersals, props, costumes etc!
  • Mrs Macdonald for sewing Cinderella’s golden dress.
  • Izzy for helping with rehearsals and letting us borrow some costumes.
  • John for filming the concert.

Cinderella’s Carriage

Thank-you so much to Thomas’s dad Lindsay for making a fantastic Cinderella carriage for our Christmas concert. The audience loved when Cinderella came down the aisle in her carriage on the way to the ball. Also thank-you to our playground supervisor Shona who helped to decorate the carriage with lots of material, fairy lights and glitter! Of course all the bairns wanted a shot in Cinderella’s carriage. After our final rehearsal we had lots of fun going around the hall in the carriage. 🙂

Enterprise

This year the bairns decided they wanted to make a school recipe book for their enterprise project. We asked our family and friends to share their favourite recipes with us. We all had to help type the recipes up.
