We have been learning about the history and legend of the dream catcher. In some Native American cultures, dream catchers were hung where the children slept. The Native Americans believed that dreams traveled through the air. The purpose of the dream catcher was to catch the bad dreams, the Native Americans believe that good dreams could travel through the dream catcher without getting entangled but that bad dreams would get stuck. This meaning the children would only have good dreams in their sleep. We made our own dream catchers using a variety of different materials. It was quite tricky, we had to use our fine motor skills.
