Term 2 Welcome back!

We had a Leavers Assembly for Miss Smith.  She has been working at Hamnavoe for ten years and has provided inspiration, engaging teaching and a solid foundation for our youngest children in that time.  Pupils sang a special song to wish her all the best which they added Singalong to.  She received gifts and best wishes from the community.
Our classes have settled in.

P12 have enjoyed preparing cards and a banner for Miss Smith.  They have also got to know their new class teacher and have been doing lots of outdoor learning.
p34 have enjoyed some spooky art work and have been working hard at their writing targets.
P5/6 had a lovely start to the term this week. We began reading Wonder as our class story. We were able to reflect on the similarities and differences people share on the inside. We started multiplication in maths. Everyone seems to be doing really well! Today we designed pumpkins for Halloween.

p67 have been working on their subtraction strategies and have started learning about Light.

All our classes are enjoying their new cosy corners.
