Week 7

It’s been a week of visitors.  We had the police do a road safety talk with p567 and our local councillors Davy and Catherine visited to find out what a morning at Hamnavoe was like.  Both were very complimentary about pupil’s engagement and their communication.  All classes started their Relationships, parenthood and sexual health learning.  All classes are following the recommended pathway for all Scotland’s pupils.
Our changes to the playgrounds have had a positive impact.  We will continue to encourage our pupils to respect each other and the schools values.
P12 and P34 have made the best of the five weather earlier in the week taking their learning outside.  P12 have made valentine hearts from wool and been doing some acting!  P34 and P67 have also been learning some Scottish dances.
P7 have been wrapping presents as a life skill and P56 have been presenting their ideas to Mrs Robertson about how to improve our outdoor areas.  They are also planning a fundraiser for the Earthquake victims.
Both the JRSOs and the Pupil council have met today.  Magnus Malcolmson from the SIC shared the plans for the new swings we are hoping to install in the summer.
It is Family Well-being night on Tuesday.  It’s going to be busy.  Looking forwards to seeing you all!
