All the pupils and staff would like to say a big thank you to our cooks for the super Christmas Lunch we had last week! The extra effort you put into making Christmas fun for the pupils is much appreciated!
P6/7 have been busy over the past few weeks, preparing some tea light jars and salt dough tags for decorating the dining hall for our Christmas lunch.
They also helped set the tables to make the meal feel extra special! Well done everyone!
Ahead of Remembrance Sunday, some of our P6 pupils took a walk up to the shop to make a delivery of our handmade poppies. This is part of an Enterprise Topic. Poppies can be bought there for a suggested donation of £3. Parents of pupils in P6/7 will have received their order forms and there will be an opportunity for pupils to buy poppies in school next week. More details to come….
Well done to our P4 and P5 pupils who recently shared their views, and the views of their peers, with SIC representatives at a Showcase Event at the Sandwick JH School. You represented your school fabulously! For more information about our morning, please have a look at the P4/5/6 Blog.
We were delighted to hear that Alec has made it into the National Finals of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists’ (RCSLT) VoiceBox competition! He is heading off to the Scottish Parliament on the 5th of June to tell his joke alongside the other regional winners. Good luck Alec!
Primary 4/5 have been involved in a two year project with the Children’s Parliament and the Alan Turing Institute. We have been extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to find out more about Children’s Rights and the UNCRC and also explore Artificial Intelligence.
We would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all the pupils who have contributed to this project over the past two years. Special thanks go to our three ‘Investigators’ who have taken part in online calls with the other 3 schools involved throughout Scotland. They have passed the views, ideas and concerns of the rest of the class on to those running the project and have been brilliant ambassadors for our school, especially when they took part in the AI Summit at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh.
If you would like to see what the project involved, please watch the video which shows some of the work we’ve carried out this year.

On Friday 3rd May we were lucky enough to have some special guests in school; visiting Folk Festival Band, The Fretless, they had travelled all the way from Canada! They were absolutely fantastic, they had us all dancing and very well entertained!
Towards the end, the band played famous songs, we had to stand up if we recognised the tune…this one was a popular one!
