On Saturday
On Saturday it was the carnival and we were on the alien float and we won for the best themed float. But that day, before the carnival, we did the last finishing touches, for the last week we have been working really hard (because if we were still working we would be working as we speak). When we were on the float we threw out Milky Ways and Mars Bars. But on the float we ate flying saucers sweeties (coloured sherbets). When we got to the weaving shed we got out and they announced the winner and it was……………..US!

My Busy Weekend
On Friday, I went down to the weaving shed. They were getting prepared for the carnival. Merrie Dancers were performing on stage and when they left, Brian Nicolson and Maggie Adamson entered the room. Maggie was in Burravoe for sailing, Brian had brought his guitar and Maggie brought her fiddle. Maggie is one of the best fiddlers in Scotland. They played away and then my dad went up to them and because I had my fiddle with me (I bet you know where this is going) he asked them if I could play with them. I played my main 5 tunes with them.
On Saturday, I had two events. In the morning I had to get up early and get dressed up because I was doing a Disney themed sponsored walk/run. It was towards Yorkhill Childrens Hospital. I was being Tinkerbell, Bradley was being Yoda, Mam was being Tigerlily and Sofia was being Perrywinkle. Sofia was doing 1km, Bradley was doing 5km and mam and I were doing 10km. I was very spagie the next day.
The SAME day I had the carnival. I was wearing a green dress so it was easy to turn into the float theme. The Burravoe bairns float was aliens and we came 1st, the Christmas float came 2nd and the Pirates of Yell Sound came 3rd. We got a prize of £100 for charity. We haven’t decided yet what we will put it towards. Ms Breyley and other helpers cooked a BBQ for everyone. There were Beef Burgers, Chicken Nuggets, Cheese burgers and hotdogs. We had a late night.

The Carnival
I went to the float and we make the fine trala and we went to the carnival and we go get to eat a hot dog. There was a sheep race and we go bak home and we go to bed and we wake up and we go to shool and we needed to get the float away becus it is not carnival.

My Amazing Saturday
They were a Carnival on Saturday Melissa, Leah, Mia, Honor, Phoebe, Abby, Neil, Rosie, Emer, Sofia, Anne, Ann-Marie and I went on an alien float which we called the Da Yellians It was silver and it had a big point at the front of it and big sticky out bits and we all made different bits for a float. I was wearing my green suit which mum bought me and then I wore my green t-shirt over top of it and mum put my hair in plaits and used Kirby Grips in my fringe and Lucy and Imogen painted my face green and did my makeup. When we got there I saw all the other aliens. Auntie Anne brought her radio which was battery powered and mum brought her CD which had lots of songs that sounded spacey. We had sweeties that were Milky Ways, Mars Bars and Flying Saucers. We threw the Milky Ways and Mars Bars but we ate the Flying Saucers they were very yummy .The were prizes for the float that came 1st, 2nd and 3rd and they were prizes for the people that were walking got prizes too, The people that walked also got prizes. The float that came first was Da Yellians second prize went to the Christmas Float and third prize went to the Pirates.

The carnival 2013
On Saturday I went to the carnival. I was dressed up has an alien. We had to make the float. I got tinfoil and I wrapped the wood with tinfoil. I cut out the planets and I stuck the lights on the tinfoil cases. It was 1km to the Hall to the weaving shed. I went on the float. We had things to sit on then we threw sweeties. I went to the barbecue I had a hot dog. I went to see the sheep race it was fun. Honor and I was looking for candy. The Jarl squad came to the carnival and the Jarl squad was singing outside next to the barbecue. We went to the weaving shed to had a drink. We came 1st in the carnival.

the Carnival Day
A lot of the pupils went on the alien float but I went on the star wars float I would of gone on the alien float but I was Yoda so I went on Star Wars. They were an R2-D2 it was a bin with explosives and if you are a fan of Star Wars there was a Jabba the Hut it was made out of foam that was pentad. There were 3 Yodas on the float and one storm trooper and a C-3PO and a Darth Maul and a Darth Vader. We went about half a mile it started at the main hall to our weaving shed. At the weaving shed there was a barbecue selling chicken nuggets, chips, hot dogs and cheese burger. There were more than 200 people maybe even more.
On Friday in the weaving shed there was music playing called Merrie Dansers accordion, fiddle key board, flute and bass.

The Carnival
Most people at our school went to the carnival.
First we had to decide on what theme we would do we picked aliens. Then make the control panels and bits to stick on the float. Some of the equipment we used included tin foil, sliver pot bits, lights, Milky Ways, Mars bars and Flying saucer sweeties.
When we had finished we had to get costumes.
I got a plane green all-in-one suit it came with a aliens mask I did not wear the mask because the eye holes were squint. I wore green lighting up hair tubes on a hair band. I painted my face green and I put eye make-up on over my eyes.
Then we were ready for the carnival!
So we put on our costumes and went down the hall to pick up the rest of the alien people and to get told what order we had to go down the road in. When we saw people we threw Milky Ways, Mars bars and flying saucers. Then we went down to find out if we came 1st 2nd or 3rd and UNBALEVALY WE CAME FIRST!

Da Yellians
Making The Float
The carnival was on Saturday, before Saturday we had to make a float for the carnival for us to go in. We had a meeting at Honor’s granddad’s shed because the float was at Honor’s granddad’s shed. It was a trailer to start with but then the adults made it have sides and a roof on the float. John, Honor’s dad, put a triangle on the side of the float. Some of the adults put a star sheet on the sides and the roof. The kids were allowed to make some alien things to go in the float the adults did some too. Honor’s mum got some little lights from the nursery so we used them in our alien things. Then it was ready for the carnival.

Burravoe School Garden
On Wednesday, a very very, sunny, warm day, our school planted cereals, Rainbow carrots, Rondo carrots and P1 planted peas. First we counted out the cereal seeds. There was four different sorts of cereals called Firth oats, Traditional bere, Garner Barley and Shetland Aets (also called Black Oats or Small Oats.) Next we got put in to groups. My group planted Shetland Aets. Then we planted the cereals. Rosie, Abby and Charlotte planted Rondo carrots and the rest of us planted Rainbow carrots.

Yell P7 Came to our School
At 9:45 the p7 came to our school. P6 and down went in to the main class room. The p7 worked really hard they worked for three weeks and some more in between. They were making a presentation in the hall in the middle room. A lot of kids choose monkeys or apes like the spider monkey and orang-utan. At play time it was crowded, the zip line and the swings was crowded but it was really fun. At lunch time we had burgers, they were yummy. I think the p7 liked the dinner. After play time they showed the presentation to us. After they showed their presentation, they went to the Old Haa for about 20 minutes. When they came back we had to say bye. Charlotte and Mia went to the door. They got to say bye, the other ones waved in the main class room.

P7 Coming to our School
Yesterday P7 came to our school, they came for lunch and a bit after that. First Mia and Charlotte showed them around and they did a little work together then we had piece and we had apple, orange and grapes. When we finished piece we went outside for at least 1 hour to do gardening. When that hour had run out we went back inside and swopped rooms they went into the classroom and we went into the middle room. We did some work there. Then it was time for lunch. We had burgers, buns, chips, roast totties, beans and salad. When lunch was finished we went outside for 20 – 25 mins. Then we went inside. The P7 showed us all their ptts. I liked their power points they were good. Then they all went to the Old Haa then came back to our school to say good bye.

Gardening
Yesterday we did gardening. We planted cereals. Kerry and I planted traditional bere. We counted the seeds in tens. We had 116 seeds but we had to plant 100 seeds in 1 square meter. We had a 20 seeds in each row. We used the hoe to get a line in the soil. We spaced the seeds to get room. I pushed the seeds gently.
Rainbow Carrots
Bradley, Honor and I used the hoe to get a straight line. We have to it careful because the rainbow carrots seeds are small. We put it next to the pea sticks. I did the top and Mia did the bottom. I patted the soil to the seeds.

We Did Some Gardening
Yesterday we did gardening before we went and planted everyone except P1 had to count the seeds we were given count we had to go in pairs but three of us had to go in a trio I was with Melissa. Melissa and I counted 116 seeds but we only needed a hundred of them then we planted the cereals. Melissa and I planted traditional bere. All of us that counted the seeds had to make 5 lines that are 20 cm apart everyone had to choose someone’s foot that was roughly about 20cm long. In our group we chose my foot. You had to plant 20 seeds in each row. Then after we did that some of us planted carrots they were two different types pot carrots and rainbow carrots. Charlotte, Rosie and Abby planted the pot carrots and Melissa, Mia, Honor, Bradley, Phoebe and Neil planted the rainbow carrots and me and Leah wrote the labels.
