The Leader Valley ASD Outreach Team are offering a host of Professional Learning this session looking at Autism Support within Education:

In person training written by the National Autism Implementation Team for all school staff, delivered by Cluster Autism Outreach Teachers. Supports SBC priorities around inclusion and universal supports.

Whole School Staff

Increase awareness of individual needs within the school community.

Increase staff skills and confidence and share tools to plan for and proactively support the needs of learners.

Inclusion – Introduction to  Autism  awareness

Online

 

An opportunity to find out about  and upskill your knowledge of autism and resources that can help

Mainstream school staff (Primary and Secondary)

Teachers and ANA’s in enhanced provisions

Increased awareness and understanding of Autism and the specific needs of autistic learners

Awareness of different strategies and resources including NAIT, the Autism Toolbox and Social Stories

Understanding  how our autistic learners communicate

Solution focussed approaches to considering different communication and behaviours for learners with autism including masking & prompting

Mainstream school staff (Primary and Secondary)

confidence for staff who are working with autistic learners in mainstream

 

Please note, prior knowledge about Autism or attendance on ‘Introduction to Autism Awareness’ is advised for this course

Autism and Girls

 

This introductory session will explore research around increased diagnosis in girls and practical strategies for support in schools.

 

Teachers and support staff in mainstream settings

 

Increase in knowledge of recent research in the area of girls with Autism and strategies to support young people.
