Arrangements for our formal tracking, monitoring and reporting processes are under review for implementation of new model 2023/24. Arrangements for 2022/23 are detailed below:

All reports are emailed to both parents and pupils. A distribution window is shared on our school calendar and a guide to the report is issued via Groupcall to support pupils, parents and carers to understand the report.

BGE

BGE pupils (S1-3) receive two tracking and monitoring reports each session.

The first report provides a brief overview of how the pupil is doing in each subject by providing ratings for effort, behaviour, and homework, and a statement about progress. Where a pupil is rated ‘Inconsistent’ or ‘Needs Improvement’ for effort, behaviour or homework, and/or where the pupil’s progress grade represents a lack of progress for the learner’s level of ability, a next steps comment will be included.

The second report includes all of the above and progress and next steps comments for all learners.

Senior Phase

Senior Phase pupils (S4-6) receive three tracking and monitoring reports each session.

The first report provides a brief overview of how the pupil is doing in each subject by providing ratings for effort, behaviour, and homework, and a statement about progress in terms of whether or not they are ‘on track’ to pass the course.

The second report offers feedback on the same categories, with two changes. Teachers will provide a ‘Working Grade’ for all graded courses – the grade which the teacher believes the pupil will achieve in the final exam if the current level of progress, effort and application is maintained. Where a pupil is rated ‘Inconsistent’ or ‘Unsatisfactory’ for effort, behaviour or homework, and/or where the pupil’s ‘working grade’ represents a lack of progress for their level of ability, a next steps comment will be included.

The final report offers feedback on the same categories as above, with the addition of the prelim percentage, a next steps comment for all learners and a comment on recommended progression pathway to support subject choices.

Parents’ Evenings

Parents of S1, S3, and S4/5/6 learners are offered Information Evenings to support the course options process.

Parents/carers of pupils in all year groups are offered one evening on which they can sign up for appointments with their child’s class teachers. In session 2021/22, this was via an online system (Parents Booking).

Parents Booking Guides

Please refer to the following Parent Booking guides for support with using the system in the first instance and contact us if you require further support:
