Location and Catchment

LOCATION

Girvan is the largest town in the district of Carrick and is situated on the coast between Ayr, about 20 miles north, and Stranraer, about 30 miles south.  The town offers traditional seaside attractions including a boating lake and amusements, but in a way that doesn’t intrude on the enjoyment of those who like their resorts uncommercialised.   Girvan has a most picturesque setting with its harbour and park areas, backed with hills and scenic views over the Firth of Clyde towards Arran and Ailsa Craig, the 1114 foot high volcanic plug lying 10 miles offshore.

CATCHMENT AREA

The catchment area for our school is the red shaded area shown on the map below. This covers the town itself and the surrounding rural areas.
