EARLY YEARS REGISTRATION TAKES PLACE NEXT WEEK!!

As part of our on going journey to school improvement, we are committed to ensuring that the attendance levels within our school and Early Years Centre are high and improving.
We have set ourselves the ambitious target that we would like our monthly average attendance for the school and EYC to be 95%.
Each month we will share our average monthly attendance on the blog and hopefully work together to reach our target!
In South Ayrshire, we are keen to hear the views on what’s important for children and families to help us to develop South Ayrshire’s Children’s Service Plan. This will help support joint working to enable children in South Ayrshire to be safe, healthy, achieve, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included.
Services have been working together to identify what they see as the main priorities to focus on and we would like parents and carers to have their say by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CWNRQZ8
Please note the consultation will only take place between the 13th and 22nd February 2017.
To request the survey in another format contact the Council on 0300 123 0900
The next meeting of the Fisherton Primary Parent Council will be on Friday 3rd February at 9:30am in the school.
All are welcome to attend.
There’s been a big fire in Nursery today!!!! Burns cottage went on fire and needs a new roof, we got the call early this morning at the station, and had to draw a map of where to go. Luckily we got there on time and managed to put the fire out with the hoses and water packs.
The football and netball clubs were due to begin today. However, due to the current adverse weather and the forecast for it to deteriorate, the clubs are cancelled for this week.
Both the football and netball club will begin next week, Thursday 19th January 2017.
Many thanks for your understanding in this matter.

Welcome back to the new term at Fisherton Primary and Early Years Centre. I hope you all had an enjoyable and restful holiday!
No sooner are we back and we are faced with the challenge of adverse weather conditions. As you will have seen from the forecasts, the weather is likely to deteriorate over the next few days and it is difficult to anticipate the impact on schools. Please be assured that the safety of the children is always of the highest importance when making any decisions.
The decision as to whether children are inside or outside at break times is always a tricky one. It’s a balance between ensuring the safety of the children and providing them with opportunity to have the space and fresh air which they need to be healthy and achieving in school. I hope the following points will help make the schools position clear.
Hopefully we will not need to make use of wet day arrangements for too much longer but I hope this provides some clarity for families on how we operate on a wet day within school.
The boys and girls in our Early Years Centre had a great time at Dobbies today. We enjoyed a fully cooked breakfast with lots of laughter from Santa’s elves, before meeting Santa and Mrs Claus! There were lots of party games. dancing and high fives as well as all of us getting a special present from Santa.
Today you will recieve via email, your child’s updated profile.
Your child’s profile will be a follow on from the previous block of observations sent out on 4th October. This block will cover learning observations made between 5th October and 20th Decemebr 2016.
Please send any feedback or comments by replying to the email.
Many thanks,
Gillian McDowell
