Please see below details of an event being held on Saturday.
Please go along and support the local Community Council in a project that will benefit the local area and residents, including the young people of Fisherton Primary.
Dunure Community Council is making a Presentation at the PAR Event being held in the Carrick Centre Maybole tomorrow, 04 March 2017, starting at 11am.
The Presentation is for Funding to start a Rowing & Kayaking Club for our local children.
There will be up to 20 Presentations by various organisations, and the audience will decide which Presentations are awarded funding.
We need people to attend, and vote for Dunure. Please help.
On World Book Day, Thursday 2nd March 2017 and to celebrate 30 years of Where’s Wally, we will be having a ‘Where’s Wally’ Day of fun and activities in school and in our Early Years Centre.
Feel free to come dressed as Wally or any of his friends or bring your favourite ‘Where’s Wally’ book to school (remember to put your name on it!)
As part of our on going journey to school improvement, we are committed to ensuring that the attendance levels within our school and Early Years Centre are high and improving.
We have set ourselves the ambitious target that we would like our monthly average attendance for the school and EYC to be 95%.
Each month we will share our average monthly attendance on the blog and hopefully work together to reach our target!
In South Ayrshire, we are keen to hear the views on what’s important for children and families to help us to develop South Ayrshire’s Children’s Service Plan. This will help support joint working to enable children in South Ayrshire to be safe, healthy, achieve, nurtured, active, respected, responsible and included.
Services have been working together to identify what they see as the main priorities to focus on and we would like parents and carers to have their say by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/CWNRQZ8
Please note the consultation will only take place between the 13th and 22nd February 2017.
To request the survey in another format contact the Council on 0300 123 0900
The next meeting of the Fisherton Primary Parent Council will be on Friday 3rd February at 9:30am in the school.
All are welcome to attend.
The football and netball clubs were due to begin today. However, due to the current adverse weather and the forecast for it to deteriorate, the clubs are cancelled for this week.
Both the football and netball club will begin next week, Thursday 19th January 2017.
Many thanks for your understanding in this matter.
Please respond below to confirm receipt of the message.
Welcome back to the new term at Fisherton Primary and Early Years Centre. I hope you all had an enjoyable and restful holiday!
No sooner are we back and we are faced with the challenge of adverse weather conditions. As you will have seen from the forecasts, the weather is likely to deteriorate over the next few days and it is difficult to anticipate the impact on schools. Please be assured that the safety of the children is always of the highest importance when making any decisions.
The decision as to whether children are inside or outside at break times is always a tricky one. It’s a balance between ensuring the safety of the children and providing them with opportunity to have the space and fresh air which they need to be healthy and achieving in school. I hope the following points will help make the schools position clear.
- In situations of adverse weather, the school will open for pupils at 8:50am and supervision will be provided by Mrs Blain in the gym hall until 9am. Please do not drop your child off earlier than this as they will not be permitted into the school building. We do not have staff available to provide supervision before this time.
- The decision on a ‘wet day’ will usually be made by the HT in consultation with the Janitor, if the HT is not in school then the decision will be taken by the janitor and the member of teaching staff with overall responsibility (currently Mrs Hamilton).
- During wet day breaks the children will be supervised by Mrs Blain and Mr Parks in the P1-4 classroom.
Hopefully we will not need to make use of wet day arrangements for too much longer but I hope this provides some clarity for families on how we operate on a wet day within school.
Due to staff absence and sickness, I have had to make the difficult decision to postpone our Christmas Nativity Performance.
I appreciate all the hard work the children and staff have put in to the performance and am committed to showcasing this achievement before the Christmas holidays.
It is my intention to re-arrange the nativity for the morning and evening of Tuesday 20th December. Times and ticket arrangements will remain the same, however if you have any difficulties with this please contact the school and we will try to accommodate you.
As always your help and understanding is appreciated and as they say … “the show must go on!”
Please remember ….
We will close early
at 2.30 pm
on
Friday 23 December
for the Christmas holidays !
School will re-open to pupils and staff on Monday 9th January 2017.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
