We had a wonderful morning celebrating the successes and achievements of our young people. The parents and families were treated to some wonderful singing by the children…..they never disappoint and rose to the occasion. Enjoy our pictures and videos of the event.

Sports Day 2017
What a fantastic day we had for sports day. The sun shone brightly and we all had a brilliant afternoon. What a view!!!
Well done KYNTYRE for winning the house cup.
Enjoy our photos of the event.
Beach School – Crafting
Today we delivered a beach school with P1-7. This stared with a walk from the school to the local beach located in the village. The pupils were given a scavenger list and got to work gathering the listed items. They gathered natural materials such as shells, sticks and stones. They used the items to make beautiful crafty ornaments to sell at our Fisherton Festival on the 26th of June.
They gathered items to take back to school and we will use these for some secret activities next week!
After we made the items we had lunch and playtime using the beach as our playground. It was very important for the pupils to remember the safety instructions they were given. They would all like to have more leaning experiences in our beach school setting.
What the pupils said….MTV
The ormaments we made are really pretty and I think they will be popular at Fisherton Festival. P6
I enjoyed getting the rocks for the mascosts. P4
I liked how I felt when I was walking down to the beach. P5
When we walked through the forest bit I really liked the scenery. It reminded me of a film I watched. P4
I liked helping the wee ones make the wind chimes. It was quite hard trying to tie the wire on the shells. P5
I enjoyed sitting on the beach and picking out pebbles to use. It was really calm and relaxing. P6
I liked looking for the shells that already had holes in them. When you found one you felt a sense of achievement because there wasn’t very many of them. P6
I loved finding eyecatching pebbles in the sand. I found blood stone, copper and jasper. P6
Finlay’s Mum helped us to make some beautiful bracelets. We had great fun choosing the beads we wanted to use and carefully threading them on. Some bracelets even have our names on!
These bracelets will be on sale at our Fisherton Festival on Monday 26th June. We hope to see you there!
A big THANK YOU to Linda for helping us today!
Well Done Winners!
Congratulations to all those who received awards at today’s assembly.
Meghan, Charlie and Ollie all managed to get onto the leader board in a South Ayrshire Sumdog Competition. Not only that the school came second overall!!! A great effort.
Liliana received a literacy award for using her sounds to write new words. Well done Liliana. 🙂
And last but by no means least, Oliver was the Dojo Champ for the wee class last week. Good job!
Orienteering
What a great day at the Orienteering Championship at Fullarton Woods! The sun was shining and a fab time was had by all. Well done to all those who took part.
Tri-School Football / Netball
Well done to Fisherton football and netballs teams who gave their all at the St John’s / Newton / Fisherton tournament. A wee thank you also to parents who helped with transport.
Sun is out, maths is out!
Primary 1 and 2 took their maths lesson outside today. In case we weren’t feeling warm enough we played some 2 times table hopscotch. Then Primary 2 found fractions of numbers while Primary 1 made symmetrical pictures using natural materials.
Messy Play!
Mrs H changed her master class today for a top secret mission! This mission involved some messy play, sensory art and loads of creativity.
Good Job to this Week’s Award Winners
Well done in the wee class to all our assembly award winners this week. Mia was recognised for her neat handwriting and presentation across all her work, Meghan won a Maths Award for learning her 2 times table and Oliver was this week’s Dojo Champ. Well done to you all.
