It is our aim at St. Fergus’ to develop in the children a thorough knowledge and accuracy in all aspects of mathematics. This is achieved through ‘hands on’ discovery methods where the children are actively involved in acquiring, developing and utilising new skills and concepts.

All children use resources, either individually or within a group, specifically designed to allow the children to experience and investigate mathematics in real life contexts.

Information Handling; Number, Money and Measurement and Shape, Position and Movement are the main features of this curricular area.
