Kendo is a traditional Japanese martial art, which descended from swordsmanship (kenjutsu) and uses bamboo swords (shinai) and protective armour (bōgu).

Here are some YouTube videos that teach you some skills. You don’t have to do them all.

Design

Anime is hand-drawn and computer animation originating from Japan. The term anime comes from the English word animation, and in Japan is used to refer to all forms of animated media.

Take a look at some anime characters and use them as inspiration to create your own anime character. Use the search engine kiddle when searching.

Here is a tutorial that will help you create a basic character that you can change to make it your own.

Writing

L.I. To create a comic strip

In today’s writing task I am giving you lots of choice. You can create your own story. This can be as silly or as serious as you like, but your story must include the anime character that you created in your design task.

S.C I can use a character that I created.

I can create a story that makes sense.

I can tell a story using mostly pictures.

Maths

For your maths task today I want you to log on to your SumDog account and spend some time working on an area you think you need to work on. Make sure you are working on a level that challenges you. I will be rewarding some more coins today!

Just for fun

Shibori is a Japanese tie-dying technique. In Japan the dye used is usually blue, but today you can have a go with spices from the kitchen cupboard. Here is a video that will talk you through how to do it.
