The Development Officer team have created a series of 3 home learning packs to support learning throughout this period of school closure. There are 3 packs:
- Early/First Level
- First Level
- Second Level
Each pack contains a range of activities exploring aspects of literacy, numeracy and mathematics. There is also a section of activities at the back of each pack to encourage independent working. These fun activities may help to engage reluctant pupils or may be helpful in providing tasks to help parents/carers who are supporting more than one child’s learning at home.
These generic packs cannot take into account the needs of individual learners and so the enclosed guidance encourages parents/carers to work through the activities in any order and to skip any tasks that do not provide the appropriate level of support/challenge.
We are aware that several schools have created their own learning packs for pupils and we have reviewed these in detail. Where possible, we have endeavoured to use different materials and activities so that these packs may be of use to schools who require further home learning packs in the future.
In a time of exceptional circumstances, the materials within these packs cannot always reflect the Renfrewshire Literacy and Numeracy approaches but they provide a range of opportunities to revise and extend learning at each level.
For further information regarding these packs, please contact any of the Development Officer team.
