Maths, maths and more maths! We have been having a go on Sumdog; please practise at home too, to see if we can get further up the leader board.
We have been exploring numbers on the number square, making up our own number patterns, spotting the missing numbers and practising writing and making numbers from all sorts of interesting things.
During masterclass, we counted how many times we could throw and catch a beanbag independently, and then with a partner, in a minute. We were becoming pretty good!
We are looking forward to inviting you into our class to join in with maths activities between 2pm and 3pm, tomorrow, Thursday 13th Sept. Please enter via the main office, and you will be directed down to the classroom. Come prepared in your Maths hat, or maybe you’d like to make one with us!
Today we were very lucky to have Primary 4M come down to help us to log onto sumdog. We played maths games together and really enjoyed having them help us! We all really enjoyed it.
We have been having great fun celebrating all things maths and numeracy so far. The boys and girls have been helping me count as unfortunately I sometimes miss numbers! They told me the correct number each time I accidentally missed one out. We also made our own maths hats, which were designed with lots of maths such as shapes, numbers and sums. Today we did a 3D shape investigation to find out the properties of different 3D shapes. We enjoyed working together to learn this. Finally today, we took part in a STEM task to create our own representations of the Erskine bridge using 2D shapes. We have really enjoyed the activities so far and look forward to the rest of the week. I look forward to seeing some of you at our open afternoon on Thursday between 2 and 3pm. Remember to come in via the office and make your way down to the classroom.

Next week, PE will still be on Friday but instead of Thursday it will be on Wednesday. This is because of the open afternoon for maths week on Thursday from 2-3pm. I look forward to seeing you then!
Could I kindly remind parent and carers wishing to wait with their child until the school bell rings to please allow their child to line up on the pavement side of the railway sleeper and discourage them from standing upon it or in our school garden. Children are aware that they are not allowed in the gardens at playtimes.
The children will be reminded by Miss Grant that her class line begins at the front of the railway sleeper that directly faces the door. This allows adults to wait infront of our dining hall windows and avoid congestion.
In addition, please could parent/carers be sensitive to all the pupils in P2G and refrain from looking in classroom windows as this can be distressing and distracting to pupils within the room.
