P2 Week Beginning 1/12/2020

Hello everyone,

Please find the homework for this week below.

Spelling

In class, you will have learned the new spelling rule magic e with a.
For your spelling homework, we would like you to write the spelling rule and common words out three times. We would also like you to create a sentence of your own. Your sentence should include at least one or more of the spelling rule words. If you would like to add more challenge why not try to grow your words or think of other words which follow the same spelling rule. There is an example below. This should be returned by Friday for your teacher to mark.

Here is a little video to help remind you of the spelling rule this week.

Please copy the words below three times.

  1. face
  2. race
  3. cake
  4. space
  5. find
  6. now
  7. see
  8. will

Can you try to create a sentence which should include at least one spelling rule word. Here is an example.
I have cake on my face.

Grow words
face – faces
race – racing
Words which follow the spelling rule
We love seeing your work, therefore, we encourage you to take a picture and add it to the assignment. You can also add photos to your class notebook or use it to type up your homework.

Maths

The maths homework grid should be attached to the assignment. The chilli challenge questions should also be attached. Please remember to only complete one activity a week. The activities chosen should be different each week. This is to give the children some variety.

Reading

Your child has been issued a new book to read at home.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s teacher

Hello everyone,

We hope you had a great weekend. The details for this week’s homework are as follows:

Children will be shown the spelling rules in class as normal, however, they will not copy spelling into a jotter or homework diary. It will be posted onto the blog and in their Teams page as an assignment. Children can complete their homework in two ways:

1. Complete using your notebook on teams and submit the work to the assignment on teams.
2. Complete on paper (depending on the task) and take a photo. Submit/attach the photo to the assignment on teams.

Home Learning W.B 8/6/20

Good morning everyone,

We hope that you had a lovely weekend.

This week our spelling sound is ‘au’ and our words are:

  • fault
  • haunt
  • launch
  • sauce

Next week as part of our Lighthouse Keepers Lunch topic, there will be an activity to make a pully like the one Mr and Mrs Grinling use in the story.  For this activity you will need a string and something to attach to it. The string could be wool, lace, ribbon and the attachment could be a cup, basket or anything of the sort.  We wanted to give you some notice for this to source materials.

Below are some reminders for home learning:

  • Just do whatever you can. We have set some of the work we would usually be doing on those days in school but please don’t feel you need to do it all. We understand that everyone has different circumstances and daily routines. We would be happy if you checked-in with us every day.
  • We sometimes set different levels of tasks .e.g. mild, warm and hot. We always say to complete one of these, however, if you want to keep yourself busy feel free to do more than one.
  • We will continue to have Team Meetings throughout the week.  If you can join us, that would be great. These meetings give everyone a short time to share their news/feelings and hear each other’s voices. I know we really enjoy them and hope you do too.
  • Uploading work: If you are having any problems uploading any work, remember you can always email them to us. Or just let us know on Teams that you have completed the work and we trust that you have!
  • Feedback for your work: We look at your work once it has been submitted/uploaded and give you feedback. Please read the feedback to check for your strengths and next steps.
  • Technical Difficulties: Sometimes documents, powerpoints and weblinks do not work when you try them on your device. Please let us know and we will try to advise you. The sound on some links doesn’t seem to work when it opens in Internet Explorer so another web browser (Chrome) would be better.
  • Chill-Out Zone: Please remember to chat with your friends here. We are loving all of the creative and funny things you are doing in this zone. Please remember not to post personal photos or videos in this area. GIFs and emojis only.

Thank you for your continued support,

Team P2

P2 W.B 30th March

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a lovely weekend.

Like last week,  four activities will be posted on teams each day for you to complete.  Please remember that you do not have to complete these for a certain time,  just when you can.  If you are online can you please comment your child’s name on the teams chat. This allows us to take a register and keep track of who has been online.

This week our new spelling rule is ‘or’

Your spelling words this week are:  sort, storm, form, short

For common words we have picked some magic e words with blends: plane, store, slime, prune.

Your child’s teacher has posted about using Zoom on your teams chat. This allows your child to speak to their teacher and classmates. Each class has a scheduled time for their zoom meeting. Please check your child’s team chat to find out their classes time.

As always, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Have a great week!

P2 team.

See you all soon!

P2F and P2G had a brilliant day today. We had an early visit from the  Easter bunny who hid treats around our classroom for us. We loved having an Easter hunt! We also had fun outside playing games in the sunshine.

The time we have spent together since starting Primary 2 has been fantastic. We have loved getting to know all of the children, they are truly a lovely bunch.  We will hopefully all be together again soon to make many more memories. In the mean time, we will communicate through glow and I will be online from 9am every weekday. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you for all of your continued support so far. Please keep in touch and we will hopefully see you soon!

Many thanks ,

Miss Finnigan and Miss Grant
