Good morning everyone and Happy Friday!

Thank you so much to the boys and girls who have sent me a message or work this week, you are stars!⭐️

Today is Finish off Friday so have a look back at the blog and see if there is anything you have missed.😊

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.😃

Primary 5 18.06.20

Good morning everyone!

Tasks for today are…

Literacy

I would like you to revise using commas around speech. Below I have added a link to BBC Bitesize. I would love for you to watch the video clips to help you and to complete the activities below. You do not need to print off any of the worksheets, you can just write some examples of speech on a piece of paper. *Also don’t worry about the editing activity at the end if you do not have access to see it. That can be a challenge task if needed.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z4rbgwx

*The website says to take a new line when a new character us speaking, although we do not do that.

I hope you like the video and the speech marks rap!😊

Maths

I was impressed with how well you got on yesterday with finding fractions of amounts. I would like you to revise this today by completing the sheet below.

Remember to look back to the video clip I shared yesterday if you need to be reminded how to work out fractions of amounts.

Primary 5 17.06.20

Good morning everyone😄

I hope you have had fun the past two days.

Tasks for today are…

Literacy

I would like you all to try the comprehension work below. Your skills are developing really well and comprehension is tricky to complete independently so I am very proud of you all.💫

Maths

I was very impressed with your division work over the last two weeks. Lots of boys and girls have told me they now have a better understanding which is fabulous!

We are going to start looking at fractions. This is revision, although we have not looked at fractions this year so it might be tricky to think back to last year. I have put a video clip below to help remind you.

You can see from the video clip that you will be using your divison to help you find fractions of amounts. I would like you to try and answer the questions below.

  1. 1/2 of 28
  2. 1/2 of 120
  3. 1/3 of 90
  4. 1/4  of 36
  5. 1/5 of 60
  6. 1/7 of 49
  7. 1/9 of 81
  8. 1/6 of 42

Challenge questions…

*Remember you can put this sum into the algorithm you were practicing last week to help you with these.

  1. 1/9 of 126
  2. 1/7 of 112
  3. 1/4 of 104
  4. 1/6 of 282
  5. 1/8 of 360

I am looking forward to hearing from you today😊

Primary 5 16.06.20

Also on Monday it is our online Sports Day which should be good fun!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend, keep smiling😃💫

P5 Tasks (11/06/20)

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all having a good week so far😊

Tasks for today…

Literacy

I would love you to complete a writing journal piece. We have been doing them when we were still in school so hopefully you all remember.✏️

This is your chance to choose what you would like to write about. It can be what you have been up to, hoe you are feeling or you can use the “I know what it feels like to…” layout.

Remember this is still a writing piece so it should not just be a few sentences. I would like you to add in lots of detail and your thoughts and feelings. This is also independent work so have a really good try at sounding out spelling words and remember your punctuation.⭐️

I am looking forward to reading your journal writing😃

Maths

*Mrs Campbell has set the Maths Seeds group a Maths task for today.

For the rest of the class I would like you to give the 4 questions below a go. They are quite tricky today because it is working on your 8 and 9 times tables. You can use your multiplication square if you would like to help you. Although, remember the grouping and sharing method to help you.

I would like you to complete the questions in your Maths jotter and putting the questions into the written algorithm method, remembering to carry your remainders.

If you need any help then please give me a message. I am looking forward to seeing your hard work.💫

P5 Tasks (10/06/20)

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are ready for another day of home learning😊⭐️

Tasks for today are…

Literacy

I would like you all to try our Editing and Proofreading task today. You can see the passage and questions below and it is exactly what we have been doing in the class.

If you need any help with spellings then feel free to use a dictionary to check📖

Maths

Yesterday I set you a Maths page to try. You had the choice to complete it all yesterday or use 2 days to complete it.

If you have already completed it then you have free choice of a Maths game. Remember there is Sumdog, Splash Learn, Hit the Button and Topmarks to choose from- have fun!😊

I am looking forward to hearing from you all⭐️

P5 Tasks (09/06/20)

Good morning😃

Thank you to those who sent me a message or work completed yesterday. Keep up the good work⭐️

Tasks for today are…

Literacy

*Mrs Campbell has posted comprehension work for Reading Eggspress group.

The rest of the class I would like you to complete the comprehension work below. I can really see some improvement with the structure of your answers, keep it up! Remember to answer in sentences and add as much detail as you can.

Maths

To continue our division revision I would like you to try the task below.

For all of the questions I would like you to lay it out using the written algorithm, just like we have been practicing. *Remember to take one number at a time and carry over any remainders.

*This task is for today and tomorrow. You can choose to do half today and then some tomorrow, or complete it all today and then play a Maths game tomorrow😊

As always, if you need any help then please send a message😊
