P5S – Hockey
Today we started a new topic in P.E.: hockey. To familiarise ourselves with the hockey stick and puck we practiced our passing and controlling technique. I was very impressed at just how well this was done. There were very few out of control pucks! You did a great job of passing them to your partners. Great effort this afternoon P5!

P7 & P1 Buddy Easter Treasure Hunt
This afternoon, we braved the weather and had a Fairyland themed Treasure Hunt. The buddies worked together to find clues, answer questions about fairy stories and then look for the next clue. The buddies has such fun working together and were rewarded with a sweet treat at the end.
Rookie Rockstars Rocked the P4-7s
This afternoon we were treated to a visit from the one and only Rookie Rockstars! Dave, Steve and the band played some of their own songs which we will be learning and some well-known favourites.
It was great to see everyone rocking out and showing off their moves. We are so excited for them to come back so we can be the rockstars!
P7M – Propagation – Step 2
This morning we transferred the geranium cuttings from the water to soil. We gave them a little water to keep them fed over the Easter holidays.

Dear Parent / Carer
Rookie Rockstars – Tuesday 2 May & Wednesday 3 May : 6.15 – 7.30pm
As per our previous letter of the 16 February we have organised a whole school visit from Rookie Rockstars, a Music and Anti-Bullying Charity week beginning Monday 24 April.
As a culmination of the pupils hard work, a performance will take place in Ingliston Country Club on Tuesday 2nd May for all Eagles and Ospreys and Wednesday 3rd May for all Falcons and Hawks. As we expect a high turnout for this event we will be limited to sell two tickets per family in the first instance and then on a first come first serve basis for any remaining tickets. Tickets cost £5.00 which covers the expenses of Rookie Rockstars. CDs of the songs will be available to pre-order and other merchandise will be available at the events. £1 from every CD sold will help to raise money for the school funds.
Ingliston Country Club have very kindly agreed to host this event free of charge as they would like to promote community spirit. Palomino’s restaurant will be open before and after the event but they expect to be busy, so please book at least two weeks in advance and leave plenty of time for service. They will also be opening ‘On the Hoof’ at 5.00pm offering hot snacks, filled rolls, cakes, pastries, teas and coffees. This is an indoor facility and has a seating area with tables, although the arena is quite cold so dress appropriately. Please see over for a map of where you should drop off your children to avoid congestion at the main entrance.
Please complete the tear off slip below and return with your exact money (in an envelope). Tickets will be distributed after the Easter holidays.

P7 Chill Time
What a busy week we have had with the Big Pedal, Eco tasks, our WW2 show, Red Nose Day and that’s not even including all the usual learning! Luckily, we had a half hour chill time in the beautiful Spring sunshine this morning. It was lovely to see everyone mixing between the classes and enjoying each other’s company.

P5S – Big Pedal Day 4
Day 4 of our Big Pedal and numbers are still rising. Keep it up P5S! Once again we were very lucky with the weather as it was rather pleasant out. Chloe S and Mirren were our photographers today.
P7 WW2 Show
A huge well done to the pupils of P7 for their dress rehearsal in front of the whole school and then their evening performance to family and friends. They worked hard with Euan from G.A.M.T.A. to help to create the script. We had a debrief of the show on Wednesday morning, to discuss what went well, how the show could have been better, what we would do differently next time and what we learned from the experience.

P5S – Archery
Today the Eco Committee organised for us to take part in an archery session led by Michelle from Active Sports. What fun we had! There are quite a few rules to follow to help fire the arrow correctly but I think everyone managed it very well. Kate even managed to get a bullseye!
Hopefully Michelle will be able to organise a club in school for you to attend. Watch this space!
P5S – Big Pedal Day 3
Day 3 of Big Pedal and we had even more bikes and scooters brought in. Well done! It was a lovely day for a cycle today and we were very lucky that the sun was shining for us. Mirren and Lily were our photographers today. They were a little snap happy as there were quite a number of photographs taken. Here are a few!
P7M – Big Pedal Wednesday
P7M – Archery
This afternoon, we had another fun activity arranged by the Eco Committee – archery! Michelle from Active Schools, showed us how to safely hold and load the bow with the arrow. She showed us how to position our shoulder when pulling back the string. We had some Robin Hoods amongst the class and a few who need to work on their aim because the arrows splatted on the windows, rather than on the target board! We all had fun regardless of the outcome. Thank you to Michelle and Kasia.
P7M – Scottish Water Visit
This morning we were lucky to have a visit from Scottish Water. They told us about water production: the cost of processing it and what we can do to help. The main message was about what to flush down the toilet – The 3 Ps! Pee, Poo and Paper. Other products can block the pipes and cause lots of damage.
Thank you to Douglas and Ian for coming to tell us about what we can do to help keep Scottish water one of the tastiest in the world!
P5H – Big Pedal
P5S – Big Pedal Day 2
Day 2 of our Big Pedal and numbers were up today – well done! Hopefully we can increase those numbers again tomorrow. It was very cold while we were out this morning but everyone was still smiling. Mirren was our photographer today.
P7 – Big Pedal Tuesday
We had a better turn out of bikes and scooters this morning, despite the snow, sleet and rain! Keep it up, P7!
