What a quick year! We have just had our last Upper School Assembly of the session and what a busy one it was.
Mr McQueen came in to hand out the chess awards and we were delighted to hear that we won the Bishopton Day Chess Trophy this year. What talented and clever young people we have.
We also had the pleasure of our clarinet group performing Top Dog for us. They were note perfect. All their practising and hard work certainly paid off and entertained us thoroughly.
We also had our usual awards and our House Captains were delighted to hand out their very last Stars of the Week as Bishopton Primary Pupils. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the House Captains for their enthusiasm, hard work and support through a very challenging year. They have been fantastic and I really appreciate their commitment and eagerness to help me and any member of staff. You have been wonderful guys.
We have now had our second assembly in the gym hall. It is so nice to interact with each other face to face! This week our Stars of the Week are in the Eagles, Hawks and Ospreys. Come on the Falcons…
It was wonderful to have our second ‘live’ assembly on Wednesday We had lots to celebrate with so many pupils reaching Silver and Gold in their merit awards. We also enjoyed sharing our Class News, Wider Achievements, Stars of the Week and Birthdays.
Very well done to our Hawks House Captains for being such great hosts this week.
It was wonderful to have our first ‘live’ assembly on Wednesday altogether. We all enjoyed sharing our Good News, Wider Achievements, Stars of the Week and Birthdays.
We even had time for a song!
Very well done to our Ospreys House Captains for being such great hosts.
Today the Upper School had our first face to face assembly in two years. It was wonderful to all be together again and sing and celebrate our weekly achievements.
A great time was had by all and as always we are very proud of our young people. Below are those who achieved Star of the Week this week.

As part of Maths Week Scotland we will be posing a Bishopton House themed Daily Puzzle. The pupils will be given a chance in school to solve the problem but we would like for the adults at home to give it a go. Use your knowledge of number, the four operations and problem solving strategies (working backwards, guess/check/improve, draw a picture, look for a pattern). Please reply to the blog post or reply to the Tweet to give your answer.
As a reward for everyone’s hard work this term, all Houses can comes as you please (wear their own clothes) tomorrow, Friday 9th October! It was very close for the House points so we thought it best that everyone had a celebration!
What an amazing sports day, it was such a delight to see the community spirit and house pride in all of the pictures. I have tried to fit as many pictures and clips in as I can but may need to make an extended copy with the amount of clips! It took days to go through.
Have a look at the links below to see a short montage of the day for each house:
This year, your whole household can get involved in trying to win points for your house team by completing the tasks, creating banners and making new chants. Please send us pictures of these activities to become part of our house montages.
