World Book Day 2022

We had a fantastic day yesterday celebrating World Book Day. It was lovely to see all the children dressed up in their colours and hearing the children sharing their favorite books. Our school book is nearly finished and will be posted for you all to enjoy next week. Here are some pictures of the day to keep you in suspense until then.  Thank you for all your continued support, have a lovely weekend.

World Book Day – 03.03.22

We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day tomorrow at Bishopton Primary School. There are lots of activities planned throughout the day and we are looking forward to hearing about your reading. This year our theme for the day is based around the book – The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt.  If possible, your child has been asked to wear a specific colour. If your child does not want to dress up then this is ok too. If your child does not have anything in the specific colour then they can create something in class to wear, if they wish .

We hope everyone has a lovely day, sharing their reading and commemorating the day in class by partaking in activities.

Thank you again for your continued support.

World Book Day 2022 – 3rd March 2022

This year instead of dressing up as a book character, we are basing our theme on the book – The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt. I have added a link below of the book being read aloud. Your child will be able to partake in activities based on the book throughout the day and we will hopefully get a picture of all the pupils together to commemorate the day.

Each class has been given a colour/theme which they are asked to dress in for that day. If you do not have the specific colour, your child can make a sash or hat in school on the day.

Intergenerational Quiz 2017

This year, Primary 6 will be taking part in the intergenerational quiz, which is a Renfrewshire wide quiz aimed at challenging negative stereotypes surrounding age. Primary 6 pupils will be teamed up with an older generation to learn about different categories such as music, film and tv, foreign languages and Scottish history in order to compete in a final quiz in November.

We are looking for willing grandparents of the children of this school to help us take part. You do not have to have a grandchild in Primary 6 and you would be required for six afternoon sessions.

If you are able to take part could you please send a letter in with your child to be given to Miss Grant or Miss Altman in Primary 6.

It is sure to be a great learning experience and lots of fun!

Thank You

Miss Grant & Miss Altman

P4 Poem

Hi boys and girls, so sorry I forgot to hand out your poem at the end of the day! Try and practice as best as you can for Tuesday please. Sorry!

Glasgow

Here is the bird that did fly

spread its wings and flew

never ceasing, ever increasing as ambitious Glasgow grew.

Here is the tree that did grow

sprouting at a quick pace

branches reaching down below

creating our dear green place

Here is the bell that dud ring

with clear and positive chimes

always changing but never stopping

keeping up with modern times

Here is the fish that did swim

down the Clyde towards the sea

on an unexpected whim

happily feeling free

Our dear green place we have to nourish

So lets make Glasgow flourish!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a midgie!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a midgie. I don’t know why she swallowed a midgie so teeny and squidgy.

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a trout, it flip flopped and swim swam and bubbled about.

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a midgie. I don’t know why she swallowed a midgie so teeny and squidgy.

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a puffin. As if it where nothing, she swallowed a puffin!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a Scottie. Completely dotty, she swallowed a Scottie!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed an eagle. Its really not legal to swallow and eagle!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a seal. Like no big deal, she swallowed a seal!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a cow. I mean – wow! – she swallowed a cow!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a Nessie. Its especially messy to swallow a Nessie!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a loch. It was massive but, och, she swallowed a loch!

There was a wee lassie who swallowed a midgie, but why a midgie, so teeny and squidgy?

and could she have swallowed yet more? – no doubt! but the loch that sloshed through her washed everything…. OUT!
