A big thank you to Julie Davies, Sarah Dove, Helena Edward and Claire Janse who came into the school and helped the children make beautiful lanterns for the Christmas Lantern parade, which will be held this Saturday night.
Book Week Scotland
We have been involved in a range of activities this week for Book Week.
P6/7 have been busy asking staff about their favourite books when they were younger. They also joined up with P3/4/5 to watch the author Phil Earle in Author’s Live. P1/2 watched the author Kes Gray talk about the P2 book Quick Quack Quentin.
The children also had parents, grandparents and ex parents of the school reading to the children.
On Thursday the children could bring books along to read at a Book Lunch and today P3/4/5 read stories to Nursery and P1/2.
Thank you to everyone who came to the school and read to the children. Thank you to everyone for supporting this week by supplying books for the children to read at the Book Lunch and the pictures for the baby competitions, which were very enjoyable!
John King Visit
Today we had a visit from John King, Tim Peake’s Father-in-Law.
He told us all about how Tim became an astronaut and his mission to the International Space Station. The children were then allowed to ask questions and there were lots of interesting ones asked.
Mr King also gave to us some momentoes including a signed picture of Tim Peake.
Thank you very much Mr King and to Miss Perry who arranged the visit.
Here is a link to the ISS tracker . As said in the Get Together the ISS is visible over the weekend

I Bike Breakfast
On Friday, 3rd. November, Robyn Warburton and Dr Bike from Comrie Croft came to Braco Primary to promote cycling to school.
Everyone was invited to come along, if they wished, to a Breakfast run by Sustrans. Children were also offered the chance to have their bike checked over by Dr Bike.
In class Robyn held a short Get Together about her work and how she wants the children to be more interested in promoting cycling, walking even riding scooters to school. She will be returning again to help run another event.
Thanks to Robyn and the Comrie Crew for arranging this for the school.
Harvest Festival/Macmillan Coffee Morning
Parents and Grandparents joined the children for their Harvest Festival.
Each class performed a song related to Harvest time and then Reverend Perkins spoke to us about the significance and meaning of Harvest.
This was all followed by tea and coffee and cakes to raise funds for Macmillan nurses.
Thank you to everyone who donated cakes and who joined us.
House Football Tournament
On Friday 29th September, the whole school attended the House Football tournament, where pupils could earn points for their House by taking part in the competition. The children who did not take part, supported their House teams on the stage.
There were junior and senior events. In the end Keirallan won both the senior and junior competition. Fred Teasdale was the top scorer in the senior competition and James Ross was the top scorer in the junior event.
Well done to everyone who took part in the tournament!
Welcome back!
Welcome back everybody. We hope you all had a fantastic summer!
Keep visiting our website to find out about events happening in the school.
It looks already a busy year!
Nursery Graduation
Today at 11am it was the Nursery Graduation!
Mums, Dads, Granny and Grandpas all came to the Village Hall to see the Nursery Graduating!
Nursery performed songs to everyone and the P1-7 sang songs to the Nursery children.
The P6’s, who will next year be the new P1 buddies, gave the children some advice about starting Primary 1.
Then there was a fabulous presentation of all the learning Nursery have been doing over the last two years.
Mrs Fridge then presented the Nursery children with their graduating certificates!
To show her appreciation of all the Nursery staff, Mrs Dawson presented flowers to all the staff.
