Bikeability at Firth
You can check out the class blog to see how P6/7 are getting on with Bikeabiliy training…
All pupils in P6/7 will have the opportunity to achieve Bikeability 1 and 2 this term. Good luck to them.
Welcome to The Team!
We are delighted to welcome Miss Lucy Clements to the Firth Staff Team. Miss Clements will be taking up a teaching post in P4/5 starting in August.
We are also delighted to welcome Miss Kayleigh Wick to the Firth Nursery Staff Team as our new Lead Early Years Practitioner, which will also be starting in August.
Farewell and Good Luck!
We are very sad to be losing members of staff at the end of the school year.
Miss Ritchie is heading off to work in England to be with her fiancé and begin a new chapter in her life.
Mrs MacIntosh is moving to The Willow Tree Nursery in Kirkwall to take up post in the new facility that is being built there.
We thank them very much for all their hard work and commitment to the school and nursery and we wish them all the best with their new ventures.
We Wear Our Values with Pride
Have a look at what we have been up to with our school Vision, Values and Aims!
P6/7 are working on their values to share with all the other children in the school, in a fun and memorable way.
Join our Community Project Action Group!
Please contact the school if you can help, or just contribute in any way!
We need people to help with:
gardening – what to plant, where and when
digging – a mechanical approach with this would be good to dig out the area for a sunken fire pit and the sensory garden pond.
building – if anyone has skills in building a wall around the sunken area, that would be tremendous… or any better ideas would also be considered.
construction – we have asked the Men’s Shed to help with construction but they are out of business at the moment. Would anyone have the time and skills to do raised beds, fences or the outdoor classroom building. We also have a pond area with paths to create to the pupil’s design and a polygrub to erect.
We are graciously being provided with finance from the CO-OP and FoFS for this community project. Materials would be provided for any groups of people willing to give us a hand.
THANK YOU, FROM THE PUPILS AND STAFF AT FIRTH SCHOOL!
