Burst Water Pipe
Dear Parents/Carers,
Thank you all so much for your support and cooperation today.
We have been informed that the pipe has now been fixed and I am delighted to share that we will be open as normal tomorrow.
For lunches tomorrow we will be having today’s lunch option (southern fried chicken and chips) with tomorrow’s pudding (cookies).
We thank you all once again for your understanding today and look forward to welcoming all our pupils back tomorrow.
Best wishes,
Emma and the Firth Staff Team
Pupil Progress Reports for Term 2
Thank you to everyone for your feedback on Term 2 Pupil Progress Reports.
It was good to try something different with the purpose of valuing all elements of the learning experiences at Firth School.
We hope it gave you an insight into what your child/children have been up to and their responses to the opportunities they have been given.
We thoroughly appreciate all the contributions to learning from all our itinerants and want to thank them for their efforts.
Christmas Dinner
We had a tremendous Christmas dinner this year, even with the Covid restrictions in place.
In fact, there were many advantageous to the new dining experience, and I am fairly sure the children thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you very much to all the extra efforts from the kitchen ladies. It was very much appreciated.
Check out the Class Blogs to see more exciting photos of our Christmas dinner.
FOFS Fundraising – Christmas Cards
Christmas Cards
The pupils have been busy creating Christmas card designs at school. You can go online and buy their designs using their unique number which will be going home on Friday the 6th of November.
http://www.apfsorders.co.uk/
Orders need to be place by the 12th of November online.
You also need to let the school know you have placed an order by using Seesaw, calling or by using email.
The school can only send off designs which have an order made online, so don’t forget to let us know.
We have a copy of your label and the original design at school, so you don’t need to return anything 🙂
FOFS Fundraising – YOUR SCHOOL LOTTERY
FOFS Fundraising – easyfundraising
The FoFS have done an excellent job of helping the school raise money by applying for easy fundraising.
We have already received over £435 and have 20 supporters.
Thank you very much to those people.
Well done FoFS!

How does it work?
Easyfundraising turns your everyday online shopping into free donations for your favourite cause. How? Just start your online shopping first at easyfundraising, then shop as normal. Our retailers will then make a small donation to say “thank you”.

Woodwind & Brass Tuition
Risk assessments have been done for woodwind and brass tuition in primary schools. This was signed off by the OIC which means individual or paired tuition can resume.
If you are a woodwind or brass player, please bring in your instrument and music for your lesson on Thursday or Friday.
Digital Survey for Parents – Allocation of Devices
Dear Parent/Carer
I am pleased to report that Scottish Government has provided Orkney Islands Council with a limited number of Chromebooks, iPads and MiFi devices that will be allocated on a basis of need. That need might be educational, financial or related to data access, or a mixture of all three. I would be grateful if you could complete this short online survey which will assist us in our allocation of devices.

The closing date for submitting your completed survey is Friday November 13th.
Kind regards
Steven Burnett
