SCOTTISH BOOK WEEK
Scottish Book Week
The children in Firth Primary and Nursery have been enjoying a day of reading as part of Scottish Book Week.
They have also been reading in lots of very strange places during the week. Have a look at our gallery to see for yourself:
NEW PARENT COUNCIL
We are delighted to say we now have a full Parent Council Committee.
Thank you goes to Ann Leask for taking on the role of Chairperson. Along with Cathy Smith (secretary) and Gemma Morris (treasurer), we are in safe hands. The school looks forward to working with the Parent Council and achieving lots of success for our children and school.
CO-OP FUNDING
Well done to the parent council for the successful bid for CO-OP Community funding.
Rachael Brammah, the Chairperson when the funding was applied for, received the cheque on Saturday on behalf of Firth Parent Council – Friends of Firth.
We are now at the really exciting stage of putting together a working party from the Parent Forum to take forward our Outdoor Community Project, along with the lead teacher Mrs Chalmers.
Head Teacher Appointed
I have been appointed as the HT in Firth Primary School, and I am absolutely delighted.
Mrs Emma Jane Rendall
I am looking forward to developing the school together with the pupils, parents and carers, staff and wider community. There are so many great opportunities available and we want to make sure our children get every chance to have great learning experiences.
Summer Holidays 21
Lots of changes are happening at Firth Primary next session, and our new school year will prove to be a really exciting one, I am sure!
At the moment we do not have a new Headteacher appointed to Evie and Firth, so Mrs Emma Jane Rendall will step up in the interim to give some continuity whilst the recruitment of a new HT is organised.
We are delighted to welcome new members of staff to the Firth Staff Team, and wish them all the best in their new roles.
Miss Lucy Clements will be our new teacher in P4/5.
Miss Kayleigh Wick will be the new Lead Early Years Practitioner in Nursery.
Mrs Karen Clark will be our new class teacher in P1 covering for Miss Moodie.
Miss Tyra Kennedy will be our new class teacher in P6/7 covering for Mrs Rendall.
Mrs Katrina Gray will be our new Support for Learning Assistant.
