Fairyland has taken over in the Primary 1 and 2 classes. Strange things have been happening. There has been various evidence that magical events have been happening including regular visits from a friendly dragon who leaves singed letters.
The dragon was upset because his Fairyland has been destroyed. The children have to re-create Fairyland through all their learning. The have been reading and writing about Fairytales. Creating lots of art work and performing dramatisations.
P2 Room 4 have been re-enacting the story of the Billy Goats Gruff. They have also been writing character studies of the troll and used peer assessed their partner’s work.
P2 Room 5 wrote letters to the dragon. When they came in the next day the dragon must have read them as they were singed. Very strange!

Primary 6 are undertaking a project called Clyde in the Classroom which is a hands-on project that uses the life history of a native Scottish species, the brown trout, to promote awareness of river ecology among young people across the River Clyde catchment. The project is delivered by the Clyde River Foundation.
The children are responsible for regulating the temperature of the water to ensure the fish have the best chance of surviving and thriving . They will hatch brown trout in the classroom and then eventually release them into the wild.
