Mrs Simpson will be starting the P6 and P7 choir again this year.
This is open to all children and rehearsals will take place every Friday, during the school day. If your child is interested can they please notify their class teacher, who will give their name to Mrs Simpson.
It would be expected that all volunteers would commit to the choir for the full school year.

A P7 football after school club is on Tuesday 3pm-4pm.
The club will be open to all P7s and from this a team will be selected to play in the School Friendship League, which is a competitive competition. Some match days will clash with Tuesday training, which means training will be cancelled on those dates. There will also be opportunities for children to participate in the North Lanarkshire Football Festivals, depending on attendance at training and behaviour in school.
This club will be delivered outdoors on the school football pitch so please ensure your child has suitable clothing, footwear and brings a water bottle.

From August 2018 Breakfast Club is FREE for Primary 1-3 children. The price of the Breakfast Club is increasing to £1 for Primary 4-7 children. There is a family reduction, where the second child costs 50p and the third child 30p – providing they arrive at the same time.
Also in terms of the Breakfast Club, the children going to it should enter through the main door in the morning, rather than the dinner hall doors. They will then remain in the dinner hall until 8.45.
A reminder to apply for free school meals if you think you qualify for them. This is especially the case
for P3 children as they will not automatically get them in P4. (P1-3 children are all entitled to free school meals) Please be assured that at our school there is no way of the children knowing who gets a free meal and who does not. There is actually a whole school benefit to applying as our Pupil Equity Fund allocation is based on the number of
children who receive free school meals – £1200 per child. Even if you do not plan to use free school meals every day I would encourage you to apply if you think you qualify.

Welcome to the new academic year which begins for pupils on Thursday 16th August 2018.
The senior management structure consists of Mr Forbes – Head Teacher, Mr Robertson – Depute Head Teacher and three Principal Teachers – Miss Walsh, Mrs Hannaway and Mr Fawcett. However as you may know, we are using part of our Pupil Equity Funding to continue to alter our management structure this year. Therefore Mrs Hannaway will be continuing to undertake an Acting Depute Role this year with a focus on closing the attainment gap and Mrs Rigg will be continuing to undertake an acting principal teacher this year.
There will be a few faces missing from the staff. We say goodbye to Mrs Tumilty, Miss Fern and Miss McBlaine.
We welcome a few new faces also – Miss Kerr who will be teaching P2 and Miss Hughes who will be teaching P6.
