Dear Parent,
Unfortunately, we had a road traffic incident in the car park this week when one of our pupils was hit by a car. The child was relatively unhurt, apart from a few cuts and bruises, however, this is an incident which has been coming due to the selfish behaviour of some users of the car park.
Every day a number of parents are putting our children at risk through inconsiderate and dangerous parking. It must stop.
Please note the following is unacceptable:
- Double parking
- Parking on crossings
- Parking in the drop off zone
- Parking out with designated parking bays
- Stopping and blocking the road to wait for a space
- Aggressive and angry behaviour – school is and should be a safe haven for our young people and we will not tolerate this type of behaviour from adults using the car park area.
Children are being put at risk by dangerous road users and that is wholly unacceptable. Drivers need to demonstrate greater courtesy, responsibility and respect in the car park for the safety of our children. We ask for your help in achieving this and will take appropriate action to ensure this happens.
Regards,
Colin Forbes
