The Pope Francis Faith Award children in Primaries 6 and 7 decided to take part in the Mary’s Meals Backpack Project during the season of Lent. Other children in the school also decided to take part. The Mary’s Meals van came to our school today to collect approximately 70 backpacks which will be distributed to children who are a lot less fortunate than us. We are very proud of all the effort we put into this very worthwhile cause.

Primary 1 enjoyed finding symmetry in the playground today with their partner. They were so excited to discover all things symmetrical!

First Communicant children will visit St. John Bosco’s Church on Wednesday and Thursday.
Mary’s Meals will collect backpacks at 12 noon on Thursday 11th May.
On Friday 12th May, staff from the NLC Inclusion Base will deliver anti bullying workshops to children in primaries 6 and 7.

On Friday Primary 3 took their measure work outside. Pupils worked with a partner or trio and used metre sticks, rulers and a trundle wheel to measure in the playground. Pupils chose what they wanted to measure, estimated its length and completed their worksheet. Pupils evaluated how well they worked together and chose other items to measure this Friday.

Please check school bags – letters were issued today detailing the whole school visit to Blair Drummond Safari Park. This will take place on Thursday 15th June. The cost is £10:00. You may wish to pay money up over the next few weeks. All monies should be paid by Friday 2nd June.

Beat the Street is back! Play the walking and cycling game from 3rd May – 21st June!

Mary’s Meals will uplift backpacks on 11th May.
All backpacks should be handed into the school by Wednesday 10th May 2017.
Primary 7 have organised this appeal as part of the Pope Francis Faith Award PFFA. Please remember many children receiving Mary’s Meals do not have basic learning tools such as pencils and note pads. You can support them to get the most out of their lessons by donating a backpack of the things they need.
For many, a Mary’s Meals Backpack will be the only gift they have ever received.
