The Teddy Bear Foundation

Primary 6 pupils spoke to all pupils at assembly yesterday about the Teddy Bear Foundation Charity, which the class chose as the recipients of the monies they will collect from their Talent Show on Monday afternoon. P6 would be very grateful if all pupils attending the show could bring a £1 to support this very worthwhile cause which supports children suffering from many conditions including Muscular Dystrophy, Autism and Dyslexia.

St. Patrick’s Has Talent – NEARLY THERE…

The final rehearsals are underway. Miss Park and the children from Primary 6 have worked hard and the whole school community is excited and looking forward to Monday afternoon.

Primary 6 have organised this fun event as they work towards gaining the Pope Francis Faith Award PFFA. This show will also raise money for a charity. The children researched various charities and chose “The Teddy Bear Foundation in Scotland”. This charity  supports children with physical and mental disabilities such as dyslexia, autism and muscular dystrophy.

You will find out more about the charity on Monday. The children would be delighted if you could please donate £1.00.

Primary 6 Titanic Models and Diaries

Primary 6 have enjoyed creating passenger cabins and Titanic ships as part of their Titanic topic. Their work has been on display in the corridor and everyone has commented on their hard work.

The children also completed redrafting their diaries too. They used tea bags to make their diaries look as though they’d been written in 1912. Well done p6!

Primary 6 and Primary 1 Buddies

Primary 6 enjoyed taking their primary one buddies to the park on Friday afternoon. It was a lovely sunny day and the children had lots of fun. Primary one have looked at ‘People Who Help Us’ and were especially keen to have their photo taken with Susan the lollipop lady. The boys and girls enjoyed spending time together.

90g demerara sugar

90g butter or margarine

2 or 3 tablespoons of syrup

Mix all the ingredients together and place in a baking tray.  Bake in the oven for 10 – 12 minutes at 180 degrees.

A Fond Farewell

It was with great sadness St. Patrick’s Primary said “Farewell” to Mr. McFaulds our janitor for almost 25 years.

Mr. McFaulds was not only a janitor but a friend to staff, parents and pupils. He always loved joining the children on their summer outings and to the pantomime at Christmas. His generosity with the children was outstanding. I am sure you will join me in wishing him a happy and healthy retirement.

The children will have the opportunity to say a formal “Goodbye” to Mr McFaulds at the Leavers Assembly on 20th June. (More information to follow.)

Anti-bullying workshop

Primaries 6 and 7 went along to an anti-bullying workshop this morning which was presented by Mr Ed Greisl.  His workshop was fun but very informative and helped all children present understand the impact of bullying.  His workshop included a ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ game which asked a variety of questions on types of bullying and how it can make children feel.  We all agree that bullying is wrong!
