P6 Party Manifestos

The boys and girls in primary 6 worked co-operatively to create party manifestos. They had to think of a political party name, decide what promises they pledged to keep, add a catchy slogan and include their beliefs and principles. Each party discussed their promises during a listening and talking exercise and the class then took a vote to see who would be the best representatives for the 2017 p6 General Election. They particularly enjoyed answering each others questions. The children had lots of fun and shared some innovative ideas with the rest of their class. Great work primary 6 🙂

Science Week P6

The children in primary 6 carried out a science investigation to find out more about what happens when the acetic acid in vinegar reacts with bicarbonate of soda. They added washing up liquid, food colouring and glitter to complete their ‘magic potions’. The children made a prediction about what would happen and were excited to see the results. They particularly enjoyed deciding what their potions could be used for. Some suggested magic powers while others suggested no more homework! Well done primary 6 🙂

A Busy Week in P1

We have had a busy week in Primary 1.

On Wednesday we had to pretend to be Primary 7 when the new intake came to visit the school. We worked so well in the P7 classroom that no-one knew we had spent the morning there.

On Thursday we went on a teddy bears picnic in the forest. The teddies loved climbing the trees and we all had a yummy lunch together. We sang songs and played tig.

On Friday we learned about Newton’s law of Gravity. We made paper planes then flew them to see if they would land. We tried blowing balloons up high too.

No matter how high our planes or balloons went up they always came back down!!!

Science Investigation – Cleaning Coins

Primary 7 had great fun yesterday doing their science investigation.  They used a variety of different liquids to try to clean old dirty copper coins.  Water, washing up liquid, vinegar, cola, tomato ketchup, brown sauce and tabasco sauce were all used to try to clean the coins.  Everyone made a prediction as to what they thought would best clean the coins and after doing the investigation we all decided that tomato ketchup and tabasco sauce worked best.
