Choir After School Club

The primary 4, 5 and 6 children have enjoyed their after school club with Miss Hughes. They have enjoyed learning new songs and have had lots of fun in the choir.

Some of the children performed in front of the whole school assembly today. A huge thanks to Miss Hughes for running the club and sharing her lovely singing voice with the boys and girls.

The children should feel very proud of themselves after singing so well earlier today!

Well done boys and girls! 🙂

Outdoor Learning – P6 Numeracy

Primary 6 have been looking at money and are currently working with budgets in class. They took their numeracy skills outdoors and applied their knowledge to a real life context.

They used their information handling skills in class beforehand to work out the quantity of the items needed for a party. The boys and girls then visited their local Scotmid in New Stevenston this afternoon and worked in groups to price items needed for the party. They were given a budget to stick to and worked co-operatively with each other to see who could get the best value for their ‘money.’

A big thank you to the staff at Scotmid for allowing us to visit the store today. Everyone was really friendly and accommodating. Despite the rain the children had lots of fun learning in a different environment.

Well done primary 6! 🙂

All Saints Day

The school attended Mass this morning for the Feast of All Saints Day. Primary 5 prepared the liturgy. They were fabulous. The children were well behaved and the singing was beautiful. Well done!

P6 Halloween Fun

Primary 6 enjoyed using oil pastels, white chalk and black paper to create spooky monsters. They used scissors carefully and glued their Frankenstein creatures together too. Lastly, orange and green paper were used to create pumpkin lanterns. The boys and girls had a spook-tacular time using their artistic skills!

The whole school enjoyed dressing up yesterday afternoon and had lots of fun in their costumes. 🙂

A big ‘THANK YOU’ to the Parent Fundraising Group who provided the raffle prizes and Halloween Treats for every child in the school.

Thanks to all parents for supporting the raffle and for the imaginative costumes, without your support this would not be possible.
