Burns’ Day

Primary 7 enjoyed their own mini Burns’ Supper this afternoon.  We enjoyed tasting haggis, neeps and tatties on an oatcake.  We finished off with some shortbread and washed it all down with a wee drop of Irn Bru.

P3 Scottish Day of Fun

Primary 3 enjoyed our Scottish day of activities. We got to try haggis, neeps and tatties on oatcakes and learned about Robert Burns. Later we made a tartan design and enjoyed shortbread and IRN-BRU.

A Cut Above!

You may recall from our blog last year that a P6 pupil had cut her hair for the Little Princess Trust and had also raised money. We are pleased to say that this act of kindness inspired another P6 pupil, Danya Khalid to donate  some of her beautiful long hair, this year to the same Little Princess Trust and also raise money. Danya said that Anna had inspired her to do the same this year. Well done and congratulations Danya. We are proud of you.

Thank you to the Taylor High School pupils who worked with primaries 1 and 2 during their work experience. They were an asset and a credit to the HS.

Road Safety Assembly

NLC Safe and Sustainable Travel Officers alongside Police Scotland delivered  a presentation to all children on how to travel safely to school.

The main message was to cross with the school crossing patrol, wear seat belts, get out of the car at the pavement and remember to consider park and stride. They also told children to consider walking to and from school with their parents.

Police Scotland will be around and about the campus, the purpose of this is to enforce parking and road safety rules are adhered to for the safety of all users.

The children enjoyed the assembly and discussed issues with regards to the above around the school.

Fun in the Snow!

Primary 6 and Primary 1 enjoyed playing in the snow together today. They used sticks and conkers to make snowmen. They also had fun making snow angels too.

A huge thanks to Engie who have provided the school with waterproof trousers and jackets. These were a great help keeping the children warm, comfortable and dry!

The children had lots of fun playing with their buddies as you can see from the photos. 🙂
