Road Safety Presentation (P6 and p7)

Primary 6 and 7 attended a presentation about road safety this morning.

Members of the Baldy Bane Theatre group performed different scenarios regarding safety on and around roads. This session was very interactive with many question and answer sessions. The children were also given opportunities to direct the road safety scenes. The performance was very informative.

Thank you Saffron, Fiona, Mathew and Calum for keeping us all entertained this morning. We learned a lot and laughed a lot too.

Internet Safety Day

Mrs Carroll and two Primary 7 pupils went along to Motherwell Civic Centre for Internet Safety Day.  They were given lots of information about keeping safe online through videos and speakers.  Ed Petrie from CBBC was one of the speakers and shared his thoughts on Internet Safety and using Social Media.  The P7 children will share what they learned with the rest of the school.

P6 Titanic Art Work

Primary 6 have enjoyed using their pencils to shade and add tone to their Titanic sketches. They used black pastels to highlight the steam coming from the funnels.

They also created a Titanic collage using paint, cuttings, pastels and chalk. They produced great art work and had lots of fun doing so. Well done Primary 6 🙂

Feast of St John Bosco

Pupils enjoyed completing their writing and colouring activities related to St John Bosco on Wednesday and of course they loved the cake and candy organised so well by Primary 7, Mrs Carroll, Mrs Nicol and Mrs McLaughlin. Well done and thank you for a fantastic amount of money raised for a great cause.

P6 PowerPoint Presentations

Some children created and read aloud their PowerPoint Presentations today which thoroughly entertained the class.

The children focused on their Learning Intention and Success Criteria to help them create different slides based on their current novel -Why the Whales Came by Michael Morpurgo.

This group worked co-operatively and included prior knowledge about their novel. They wrote about their own predictions and described main characters as well as the plot of their book too.

When they asked if anyone had any questions at they end, most children asked if they could borrow their novel.

Well done Primary 6 🙂
