St Patrick’s Dance Crew

‘St Patrick’s Dance Crew’ have been working hard and rehearsing in their lunchtimes to get ready for the dance event tomorrow evening at Bellshill Academy. Thank you to Joe Harding from ‘Starstruck’ Dancing school. Miss Park and I will accompany them and we are really looking forward to watching them perform.

Welcome back…

I hope you all had an enjoyable Easter Break. Summer Term already!!  I do hope the weather improves…

Events this week are relatively quiet as you you will see below:

Thursday:

St. Patrick’s Dance Crew will participate in Dance Mania in Bellshill Academy.

Friday:

BOOK DAY

This has been re-scheduled due to the “White Out” conditions on World Book Day.

NO COST is attached to this event.

Children may dress up as a character from a novel. The purpose of the day is to encourage children to read, to foster a love of books and to have fun.

Primary 6 have organised the following:

an assembly for the children

a bookmark competition

library storytelling sessions

and other fun activities.

A reminder for next week:
School Sports on Friday 27th April from 1:20pm – 2:30pm (approx). All welcome! WEATHER PERMITTING!!!

Lenten Charities – Final Total

The total raised for SCIAF during Lent is an amazing £1078!!!!!

Fantastic and well done, this money will be used to help others less fortunate than ourselves throughout the world.

The UK Government is matching pound for pound money raised during this appeal.

SCIAF will receive £2156.

AND FINALLY…

“Thank You” to the Parent Fundraising Group for giving a creme egg to every child.

Thanks also to Les Hoey MBE from the Dream Maker Foundation who gave every child in the school an Easter Egg.

Thank You Very Very Much!!!

Congratulations to the winners of the Colouring In Competition and the Guess the Eggs in the Jar Challenge.

The children have all been winners this Easter Seasons. Your kindness will be rewarded.

Primary 1 visited my office today to wish me a Happy Easter, their Easter Bonnets were AMAZING!!! They filled my office with sunshine.

Easter Fun with Barbara from Tesco

Thank you to Barbara Hughes from Tesco who delivered a healthy eating, spice lesson with some Easter fun thrown in for P4 and P5 last week. Last year every class were lucky to attend the ‘Farm to Fork’ initiative at Tesco Bellshill and Barbara was very pleased to come back out to St Patrick’s to work with  a few of the classes recently. She will return during Health Week , 23rd April to work with P2 and P3.

Preparing for the Commonwealth Games!

Primary 4 have been learning about this years Commonwealth Games. We learned all about the Mascot, Borobi and lots of other interesting information! We made posters and used the ipads to research. We really enjoyed learning all about the Commonwealth Games.

Holy Week

Our Lent Appeal for SCIAF ends this week. We have raised £891, which is a fantastic amount, hopefully we can reach £1000 by the end of this week.

CRAZY HAIR DAY

Crazy hair day was a huge success – have a look at the creative and imaginative styles:

This fun activity has helped to increase our Lenten Charity Appeal to £891. The money raised so far is fantastic, our aim is to reach £1000. Remember all money raised will be matched by the UK Government pound for pound.

Next week will be the last week of our appeal. Please continue to encourage your child/ren to place spare change in the WEE BOX and /or participate in the colouring in competition and guess the sweets in a jar. These will be ongoing throughout the week – cost £1.00.
