MEET THE TEACHER

3:15 – 4:15PM

Pop in for 5/10 minutes to see your child’s class, meet his/her teacher and informally pass on information.

This is a drop in session and not a parental interview.

Individual interviews with teachers are planned for October.

Breakfast Club Update

There is no cost for the breakfast service for pupils entitled to free meals, this includes all pupils who receive free meals and all children in P1 to P3.

The cost for all other pupils in P4-P7 is £1 per day for those not eligible for free meals.

Primary 7

Taylor High School Visit

Primary 7 will begin transition visits to THS tomorrow. The children were issued with permission forms today please complete and return to school tomorrow.

Kilbowie Information Evening at 6.00pm Tuesday 21st August.

Permission slips, equipment lists and questions with regard to this exciting excursion will be answered or questions/concerns discussed.

The week ahead…

Please check school bags as all children have been issued with an August Newsletter, a more detailed newsletter with dates until December will be issued early September.

Monday

Permission Forms will be issued to primary 7 children today, it is important that these should be returned to school on Tuesday morning, without this permission we cannot take children out of the school campus.

Breakfast Club begins at 8:15 am each day.

The cost  each day is:

1st Child £1.oo

2nd Child 50p

3rd Child 30p

Free school meals – no charge

Please note, even although children from P1-3 are entitled to a universal free school meal, they will not automatically qualify for a free breakfast. Parents/carers will have to apply for Free School Meals no matter what year their child is in. If a free School Meals’ application is successful an allowance of £1 will be added to the child’s account at 8am each morning and if not used will be removed at 9.30am.

Tuesday

Primary 7 will walk to Taylor High School for the Transition Continuity Programme.

Letters and programmes were given to children today.

Kilbowie Information Meeting for Primary 7 children, again a letter was given to children today.

Wednesday

Kilbowie

Primary 7 will attend Kilbowie Outdoor Centre from Tuesday 25th September until Friday 28th September 2018.

An information evening as been arranged for Tuesday 21st August at 6.00pm . I apologise for the short notice, I look forward to seeing you at this meeting.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club begins tomorrow at 8:15am. Children should enter via the Main Entrance. Staff from New Stevenston Primary will supervise.

The pricing policy is:

  • free if children are in receipt of free school meals
  • £1.00 per pupil per day, there is a sliding scale where if there is more than one child from the same family attending
    • 1st child £1
    • 2nd child 50p
    • 3rd child 30p

The purpose of Breakfast Club is to provide a positive start to the day for our children. It is expected that children will display good behaviour. Anything to the contrary will be communicated to parents immediately.

 

You do not need to make prior arrangements for your child to come to breakfast club. On the days they are coming they should come to the front doors of the school where they will be brought into the building and go to the dinner hall where they will be registered. Doors will not be opened until 8:15am.

Welcome Back!

We hope you have had a lovely summer and we look forward to welcoming the children back to school tomorrow.

Primaries 2 to 7 begin school at the usual time 9:00am.

Primary 1 will begin at 10:00am and should enter via the main entrance.

We look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow.

Happy Holidays!!!!

Classes for next session have now been finalised, they are outlined below:

Primary 1         Miss Blair

Primary 2         Mrs Neary

Primary 3         Mrs Slavin / Mrs Moore

Primary 4         Miss Park

Primary 5         Miss Coyle / Mrs McCargo

Primary 6         Miss Connelly / Mrs Allan

Primary 7         Mrs Carroll

Mrs Semple will also return to school to assist with Additional Support for Learning ASL.

Mrs McCargo will undertake ASL, mentoring alongside PT duties.

Mrs Allan will teach Spanish and cover teacher McCrone time.

 

Please remember, as always staffing is subject to change.

 

Mrs McCargo was successful at interview and she will take on the role of Acting Principal Teacher in St. Patrick’s from August, she will perform PT duties while Mrs McIntyre is Acting Head Teacher at Newarthill Primary.

 

More staffing news – Miss Forsyth will leave us today to take up a teaching post in Cathedral Primary. She has been a great asset to Primary 4 and I wish her every success in her future career.

 

I will once more wish you all a very happy holiday.
