Primary 4 have been learning about St Andrew. They wrote down information in their Fact Files and used their weaving skills to design their own tartan. Some boys and girls will finish their tartan next week. Well done P4. 🙂

Incredible ICT!

P1 have been learning about shape and have been on 2D shape hunts around our class. They have used their amazing ICT skills to upload their findings onto our ‘Padlet’, a collaborative mindmap. Use the link to view the padlet and the super shapes we have found!

Jennifer from Live-n-Learn introduced Growth Mindset to the whole school at assembly yesterday. This was followed by P4 to 7 workshops and a fun and interactive session with staff after school. The aim of this approach is to develop confidence, responsibility and to build resilience to enable the children to focus and to work hard. They all had an enjoyable day!

Celebrating Success

The past week Primary 2 and Primary 6 have worked super hard in competing against 406 other schools in the North Lanarkshire Sumdog Competition.

Primary 6 kicked off the competition by coming first place in the Daily Top School on Friday 16th November. This means they answered more correct questions than anyone else in the competition. This can only be won once.

After holding the top spot for 5 days another school gave us a run for our money and made us compete for our title. But, in the end Primary 6 came 2nd overall.

This means Primary 6 finished in 2nd place out of 407 different schools. Primary 2 worked really hard and entered the table at 50th. This is really impressive for their first competition.

What was more impressive was that 3 of our pupils placed in the Top 50 Students table, and another in the Top 100. The total of students entered in this competition was 8700, so an unbelievable achievement for everyone involved.

Mrs Connolly is extremely proud of everyone who took part.

A special visitor

P1 were visited by a friendly dragon called Spyro. He comes from Fairyland and needs help to put it back together, as it’s disappeared! P1 are going to help all the Fairyland characters by reading their stories and completing missions from Spyro. This week we were helping the Little Red Hen by baking some bread. It was delicious!
