It was lovely to be back at St Patrick’s this week and even better to get to work with P7.
We had a great day discussing Global Warming and debating whether school children should have gone on strike on Friday as part of the global campaign for action on climate change. Pupils worked in groups to come up with For and Against arguments and then we had our own secret ballot. Our results were 15 For and 9 against strike action.
Pupils then enjoyed their daily mile and golden time in the glorious February sunshine. Global warming indeed.

Things to look out for…
Disco is rescheduled for Thursday 28th February!
Next Parent Council Meeting is Wednesday 6th March at 6:30pm
This week in science club we made a boom in the room by adding baking soda to some vinegar and mixing them together in a closed bag. This caused a chemical reaction and it produced a gas which then inflated the bag until no more could fit – causing the bags to pop!
Another fun week in science.
Have a look here for some pictures and videos of our experiment.

We have been learning all about being safe online this week. We know that there are strangers online just like there are out and about, and that we should tell an adult straight away if we are unsure about something.
As an experiment, Miss Blair uploaded a class drawing onto the internet to show us how many people could see it. We then plotted the places it had reached on our class map.
In less than a day, our post reached over 30 countries and was viewed in places such as Alaska, Russia and New Zealand! This helped us to learn a very important lesson about sharing information online.

Primary 4 are enjoying their new topic. The children have participated in various art lessons and gym games linked to Ancient Egypt. They were able to locate Egypt correctly using a map and have learned about Pharaohs and mummies which inspired them to write adventurous stories too. 📚📖🗺
They will learn more as the term progresses. Have a look at how much fun they’ve been having while learning about historical events in Egypt by clicking on the link below. 😀
