Happy St. Patrick’s Day

We celebrated the feast of St. Patrick by attending Mass in St. John Bosco’s Church this morning. Primary 6 prepared the liturgy for Mass. Well done!

In the afternoon Primary 7 children performed the story of St. Patrick – it was very entertaining.

Well done primary 7!!

The week ahead…

The Growth Mindset focus for this week is:

It was another successful week for St. Patrick’s Primary – the choir from P6 &7 who performed at the Glasgow Music Festival sang beautifully. They were a credit to their families and the school.

The 6 children who joined with the NLC Samba Band at the Nurture Multi-Agency Conference in the Civic Centre were outstanding. We certainly have some very talented children. I was a very proud HT sitting in the audience of 350 delegates who watched the performance. Well done!

Well done to the two Primary 6 who took part in the Taylor High School Cluster Knex challenge – they were excellent ambassadors for the school.

Congratulations to the children from Christ The King Primary who came 1st in the challenge.

Egyptian Mummies

Primary 4 created their own Egyptian mummies this afternoon using tin foil, water, and paper towels for bandages. They worked co-operatively and shared resources.  The children found out more about the mummification process and had lots of fun creating their own mummies. Great work Primary 4 🙂

World Book Day

Primary 4 celebrated World Book Day last week. We read fables in class and discussed the moral attached to each one. The children then wrote their own fables including a moral at the end. Next we went a visit to the library and quietly read a book.

Primary 4 also enjoyed Crazy Hair Day and brought in £1.00 each to put towards our Lenten Appeal – St Margaret’s Children and Family Centre.

Well done Primary 4 🙂

Problem Solving with Lego

Primary 4 enjoyed working co-operatively this afternoon. The children developed their communication skills by encouraging each other to do well. As part of their task they had to give instructions, as well as describe the various pieces of lego needed to build an object. Their roles included an engineer, supplier and builder. The children changed roles after each object was built correctly.

All the children said the lego afternoon made them feel relaxed and happy. A big thank you to Faith and Sarah who supplied the lego games and supported the children with their tasks today.

Well done Primary 4. 🙂
