Primary 4 Assembly

Primary 4 have been working very hard,  they shared their learning with the children at an assembly in the morning and with their parents in the afternoon. After assembly they had tea, coffee and juice with their families.

The P4 topic was Ancient Egypt  – the performance and sharing of facts was fantastic. Well done!

P4 Science

Primary 4 carried out a science investigation using 2 slices of apple and a 2 tomatoes. We wanted to discover what would happen if we mummified fruit.

We mixed the salt and baking soda together, this was our natron. Natron draws water out of things and dries them up. This is why salty things make us thirsty.

By drying something out, it doesn’t have the moisture it needs for the rotting process, so it works as a preservative.

We are excited to observe the changes that will take place and see if our predictions were correct.

Well done Primary 4. 🙂

Delicious Fruit Kebabs

Primary 4 have been learning about the Growing Season in Ancient Egypt. We know that when the River Nile flooded it created rich fertile soil. The soil was then ploughed and seeded.

The Egyptians grew their own fruit so we decided to sample some fresh fruit in class. We enjoyed selecting our fruit and eating our fruit kebabs. Delicious!

.

Well done Primary 4. 🙂
