House Winners Week 2

Well done to Barra House who were our House Winners in Week 2 with 97 tokens.

We are really pleased that the pupils seem to be enjoying winning the tokens for their houses and that already we are seeing  positive improvements in many areas.

The scores for each house from Week 1 were added to last week’s scores and as this is our final week of May we will have our overall House Winners for May on Friday.

The scores are very close so it will be exciting to see which house will be overall winners this month.

Good Luck everyone – keep trying hard to win lots of house tokens.

Fun With Our Buddies

Primary 2 had great fun today with their Primary 7 buddies. They went outside and together they played a variety of games. Some of these included football, hockey, tennis, the parachute and they even got to play on the Trim Trail. Great fun was had by all.

Farm to Fork

Primary 1 had a special visitor and friend to the school this afternoon. Barbara Hughes from Farm to Fork at Tesco Bellshill told the pupils all about Arable and Pastoral Farming. Pupils got to see lots of pictures and find out some interesting facts.

Barbara also brought along some delicious fruit for the pupils to taste including blueberries and mangos which the children loved.

Over the years Barbara has delivered some great lessons to all the pupils of St Patrick’s and we are very grateful.

First week of St Patrick’s House Points

Our first week of our new house points has been very  popular in school with pupils and staff. All pupils have been split into fours houses – Barra, Mull, Harris and Cumbrae.  On Thursday we had our first house meetings and pupils in P6 and P7 who wished to put themselves forward for House Captains and Vice Captains wrote and delivered a speech to their fellow house members before it was put to a vote by pupils.

Well done to all pupils who participated. We were very impressed by their responses.

Barra House – Captain:  Marco and Vice Captain: Keavney

Mull House – Captain: Aidan McN and Vice Captain: Paige

Harris House – Captain: Keir and  Vice Captain TBC

Cumbrae House – Captain: Annabelle and Vice Captain: Charlie

This week Cumbrae House (Blue) collected the most house tokens with 94. The totals for each house have been displayed on our new display and these amounts will be added to over the next two weeks. Captains and Vice Captains will count the tokens from each class on Friday afternoons.

At the end of the month the overall winning house will receive a reward for May .

Thank you for returning the House Points contracts. We have had a fantastic response and are only awaiting a small number in each class. Please sign and return asap.

We will continue to update you about our new positive behaviour programme each week.

Exploring in the sun

Primary 1 and Primary 6 enjoyed exploring in the sun yesterday. Some enjoyed some light exercise, where as some created tents by working together. The children found buttercups and tested them under their chin.

Keeping Active

Primary 4 have been keeping active in many different ways recently.

We’ve enjoyed participating in various sports including archery during Health Week.  Primary 4 have enjoyed using the Trim Trail, as well in the playground and pitch for PE lessons. We also walked to the park today and enjoyed playing with our friends in the sun.

Primary 4 are being encouraged to be ‘good sports’ and include others in their games. Great work children 🙂
