St. Patrick's Primary, New Stevenston

Primary 7 had great fun this afternoon doing Science. We made pneumatic systems to create an opening and closing Burger Box Buddy. Our finished designs are very creative.

Well done to our three P7 public speaking participants who took part in the cluster public speaking event on Friday afternoon. Although they did not win this time, all three pupils spoke very confidently and gave some excellent reasons as to why they believe mobile phones should be banned in schools. They were a credit to their families and school and I thoroughly enjoyed watching all the performances. Well done to St Mary’s Primary.

Mull House our May winners were treated to an extra play last Thursday in the sunshine.

Well done to Harris House who were last weeks winners of the house tokens with 111 tokens, the most tokens won by any of the houses so far in a week. Every house have now had a weekly win.

P1 enjoyed growing some cress plants today in our lesson. We have learned about and labelled parts of the plant and now we are experimenting to see whether our cress seeds will grow on

wet cotton pads and paper towels. We have put them in the day light at the front of the school and we will watch to see if they grow.

Congratulations to MULL House who had the most house tokens for May. In Week 3 Mull won with 96 tokens and had an overall winning amount of 269 house tokens. A fantastic amount. Barra house were a very close second!

All pupils in Mull House will receive an extra playtime hopefully this week.

Each week in June we will continue to add on the scores and then announce the June winners at the end of the month.

Please encourage your child to bring home their packed lunch boxes each day and help win some extra tokens for their house. We have a few unclaimed boxes in school if anyone is missing any.
