Monday 27th January: Coding after school club is on as pupils continue to amaze us with their growing skills.
Fundamentals (active schools sports) takes place with our Active Schools partner. Pupils have received compliments for their efforts and attitudes.
Wednesday 29th January: Martin Mann (Missio) visits our school to outline the great works carried out by our Catholic charity, Missio. Pupils will become aware of the excellent work of this charity and who our fundraising efforts support.
Drama after school club continues after a very successful first week. Numbers attending were great and pupils were very impressive on week one!
Thursday 30th January: Mr Dinsmor will be attending Child Protection Training, delivered by North Lanarkshire Council. Imperative responsibilities of school management and staff will be explored and safeguarding issues will be covered. North Lanarkshire Council and St. Patrick’s Primary are committed to ensuring the safety and care of all pupils and families.
Thursday 30th January: Mrs McIntyre attends NLC Health and Wellbeing Champion meeting. This area of the curriculum is huge and should underpin all other areas of our work and learning. Mrs McIntyre ensures St. Patrick’s deliver the very best experiences of Health and Wellbeing for our pupils and staff.
Friday 31st January: The feast of St. John Bosco will be celebrated with Father Haddock, all pupils and staff, in St. John Bosco Church at 11am Holy Mass. Our children and staff are extremely excited to unite in celebration of a Saint who is famed and venerated for his love and commitment to education. The founder of the Salesian order, St. John Bosco saw the value and spiritual potential of educational establishments and is a highly fitting patron of St. Patrick’s Primary School in the Parish of St. John Bosco and Christ The King.

As we near the end of January (although not quite), it’s a fitting time for me to gain access to the Glow Blog. As the new member of staff at St. Patrick’s Primary School I can now comment on the type of school and community we have here in New Stevenson.
The pupils and staff have shown themselves to be generous, kind and welcoming. The parents and guardians have been supportive and encouraging and this has reinforced my belief that this is a school community that I am lucky to be a part of.
Our campus partners, New Stevenson Primary, have shown me the same warmth of welcome as St. Patrick’s and I’m confident our joint progress will be outstanding.
We will have lots of positive outcomes and successful experiences to share as partners in the learning of the pupils of St. Patrick’s and many exciting times ahead.
Communication will be key as we drive forward together so please ensure our school office has up to date contact details for all main pupil contacts (phone numbers and email addresses).
Thank you to all pupils and families of both St. Patrick’s and New Stevenson Primary Schools for making me feel very welcome and at home during my first two weeks as Head Teacher.

It was a first this week at St Patrick’s with joint House Winners.
Well done to Barra and Cumbrae with 61 tokens each. This will be added to the scores from each week in January and the winning house of the month will be counted up next Friday and receive an extra playtime the following week.
I think it is going to be close this month.
