Coronavirus
With the concerns surrounding the Coronavirus we aim to stick to our core business of teaching and learning between 9am and 3pm. There will be no after school clubs until after Easter and you’ll have noticed that some larger events across the authority have been postponed in an attempt to limit the pressure put on our emergency and support services during these trying times.
We will update our parents and families with any new information and advice as we receive it and we will post some advice shortly relating to what to do if your child is unwell or you feel they should be absent due to an illness.
On Tuesday 17th March at 9.30am we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with our school Mass in St. John Bosco Church.
Pupils are welcome to bring a wee something green to wear (a ribbon, a scarf etc.) for when we return to school after Mass.
On Friday we continue to raise money for Missio with our ‘Missio Mile’, sponsor forms have already been issued to pupils and we’ve asked that pupils don’t go to doors looking for donations and that even just a tiny amount will be greatly received.

Primary 7 braved the cold and wet weather this afternoon to take part in their first Bikeability session. They played balance games and took part in slow races. They had great fun and are looking forward to next week. Let’s hope for better weather though!

Mummifying Fruit
We poured baking soda and salt on top of tomatoes and apples. This helped draw the moisture out and preserve the fruit for longer. The Ancient Egyptians used a method similar to this in order to preserve bodies in the mummification process.
Great work Primary 3/4!

A massive well done and thank you to our Confirmati pupils who organised the Mary’s Meals Backpack Appeal as part of their Confirmation preparation. The generous children of St Patrick’s collected a total of 92 backpacks which will help less fortunate children in Mary’s Meals schools. The whole school was able to greet the Mary’s Meals van when it came to collect the backpacks and the volunteers were very grateful for our generous contribution. The staff of St Patrick’s are very proud of the children.

Well done to our P5/6 fundraising groups who have been working hard over the last week organising various fundraising events. The first group who have been selling coloured eggs have now sold out and the draw for the prize will take place this week, this has been very successful with the girls raising a fantastic £85!
Our ongoing events include home baking, bookmarks and a raffle. We also have a sponsored MISSIO mile coming soon. Thank you to everyone for your continued support.

Thank you to everyone who has brought in back packs so far for our ‘Mary’s Meals’ appeal. To date we have around 60 bags which is a great amount. The bus will uplift the bags this Wednesday. (Time to be confirmed.) Pupils bringing in the back packs will get the chance to put them on the bus. All parents are welcome. We will notify parents of time asap.

Please return any more permission slips for Bikeability 1 which will begin on Thursday afternoon from 1.15 – 2.45.
Pupils should bring their bike and helmets on Thursday and should wear suitable warm clothing for cycling including a waterproof jacket. A padlock is also advisable.
Some bikes and helmets can be provided for pupils requiring this for the training but it is important that slips are returned to assist us with our organisation.
A new gymnastics after school club will begin on Thursday after school for Primary 1 for four weeks.
Please return any more slips for this tomorrow.
Thank you to one of our parents, Mrs McMonagle for giving her time to lead this club.
