Children starting school in August were invited to St. Patrick’s Primary this morning. Parents were given an overview of the school and curriculum. The children spent time in class with their teachers. The children were wonderful.
Parents then joined their child for lunch in the dinner hall.
We are looking forward to working with the children on Tuesday 7th June when they return to class and meet their P6 Buddies.

Primary 6 loved organising a non-uniform and ‘Funky Footwear Friday’. The children from p1 – p7 brought in £1.00 for the privilege. All money raised will go to CHAS – the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland. Lauren and Andrene enjoyed taking lots of photos.

As part of their Pope Francis Faith Award study, primary 6 are organising this year’s ‘St. Patrick’s Has Talent’. They are raising money for CHAS, and during their research of the work of the charity, they discovered CHAS are promoting a Funky Friday Footwear day, on Friday 20th March. They have decided to make this a dress down day too.
I have attached a powerpoint presentation prepared by the children – go on, give it a go for Funky Footwear Friday!!

A selection of P6 & 7 children will represent the school with Beats Of Brazil at the Summer Arts Festival at Motherwell Civic Centre on Monday 16th May.
Tickets for this event can be purchased at the school office.

Primary 5 have been really enjoying making sock puppets and getting to know their personalities. Today they took them for a walk round the school. Look what they got up to!!!

Good luck to our primary 4 children who will make their First Holy Communion on Saturday in St. John Bosco’s Church at 11:00am.
The children will receive their Communion Certificates at 11:30 Mass on Sunday morning.
I am sure you will remember them in your prayers.

Primary 5 enjoyed tasting exotic fruit as part of their ‘Eat like a Champ’ health programme which we have been completing in Health and Wellbeing. Pupils enjoyed smelling, tasting and writing poems about these fruits.

This term we have two new clubs which will begin the week beginning 9th May.
Mrs Semple will lead a lunchtime recorder club on Mondays for P4/5 pupils and Miss Park will lead an after school Arts and Crafts club on Wednesdays for P6/7.
The recorder club will finish on 13th June. Arts and Crafts will finish on 8th June.
Permission letters were distributed on Friday and these should be returned before Wednesday 4th May.

Primary 6 have enjoyed making their Titanic projects at home. They were all proudly displayed in the school and the children were very proud of their work.
