All About Animals

As part of the annual science week activities ‘Zoo – Ed’ delivered workshops to all classes today.  The children observed and handled lots of different species. All of the children found the activities informative and fun.

Induction Day 2

The children who are starting school in August were in the primary 1 class today. They met with primary 6 buddies and played with them in the playground.

The children were all fantastic. We look forward to working with them in August.

As a starting gift the children will be given a book bag when they begin school.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Primary had fun in the sun and took their teddy bears for a picnic. This is a sponsored event and all monies raised will go to St. Andrew’s Hospice.IMG_0359

Samba Band

Primary 6 children from St. Patrick’s and New Stevenston Primary entertained Primary 7’s from across Lanarkshire today. The NLC Samba Band performed in the glorious sunshine at Strathclyde Park, as the Yellow Walk for St. Andrew’s Hospice came to a close. A fabulous time was enjoyed by all.

School Uniform

Our uniform has changed to SCOTCREST UNIFORMS (previous provider has retired). Uniforms can now be purchased online or instore. School office will no longer order uniforms. Children were issued with fliers today.

Results of survey from parents evening are as follows:

YES to PE Kit 69%    NO to PE Kit 31%

SLIPOVER option:

YES 75%          NO 23%       UNDECIDED 31%

PE kit will consist of black shorts /cycle shorts,  blue T-shirt or polo shirt and plimsoles.

Slipovers with school badge will be available if you choose that option.

Family Night

Parent Focus Group have organised a Family Night in St. John Bosco’s Church Hall on Friday 3rd June.

Doors open at 6:30pm.

Cost £2:00 for adult entry, £1:00 for a child PAY AT DOOR.

The night will include a quiz, prize bingo and entertainment.

Donations for prizes will be gratefully accepted – send donations to school office.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will help to fund  school outings and activities. Every child will benefit.

WEAR YELLOW WALK

Primary 7 will take part in the annual St. Andrew’s Hospice “Wear Yellow Day” on Wednesday 1st June. The 6k walk will take place in Strathclyde Park between 10:00am and 1:00pm. This is a sponsored event.

Between the walk and other entertainment, the children will have a memorable day no matter the weather.

Primary 7 Transition Visit

Primary 7 children will attend Taylor High School on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th June. They will follow a High School timetable. They are very excited. We wish them luck and success.

Mrs Carroll will meet the children at Taylor High School at 9:00am, they will be dismissed from from Taylor and make their own way home.
